When it comes to biryani; Swaadhist serve me one of the best biryani's. Their dum biryani isn't very spicy, not too oily (or greasy); and has sufficient moisture (a proper dum biryani will always be nice and fresh with all the dum - steam); with well cooked, juicy and tender meat (lamb or chicken). The malabar biryani is their signature one and a must have. The Malabar Set Biryani comes with raita and chutney served on a banana leaf!They also serve Kappa Biryani. While it has Biryani in its name, it should not be mistaken as yet another variant, this one is made only of kappa (tapioca) and some mutton - without any rice! Kappa is a starchy root; and this preparation tastes and looks like dry indian potato sabji. An idea I used, which worked well for me was to have the Kappa biryani with roti.
