1. Firecracker Soft Shell Shrimps $8.50++

Firecracker Soft Shell Shrimps

These flavoured bombs are coated with a tasty blend of spices and fried for that perfect crunch. They are outrageously addictive, these lightly battered morsels are served with swensen's very own pineapple BBQ sauce. The batter around the shrimp was salty but not too overpowering, paired with the sweet and savoury sauce, I could devour all the shrimp and yet not feel overly thirsty!

Firecracker Soft Shell Shrimps

They were very generous with the shrimps as I think there had to be at least 20 of them. When I was finally though an entire generation of shrimps. Lo and behold, there was a a bed of thick cut french fries!! The fries together with the pineapple BBQ sauce was a match made in heaven! I highly recommend ordering this just for the sauce!

2. Chicken Istimewa $15.90++

Succulent Chicken laced in a mild spricy fragrant marinate with tastes from exotic Indonesia. The chicken is grilled to perfection, leaving a very juicy and succulent chicken thigh meat. Served with traditional sambal balachan, which I found a bit too spicy and achar. This is the epitome of a rich Asian culture that makes you feel right at home for Christmas.

The chicken was very memorable and there were 2 big pieces. I felt that they could've served you more rice, as the rice portion was very small, and more like a tiny sidedish! The rice could've been a coconut seasoned rice like the nasi lemak kind.

3. Chocopop $5.50++

Chocolate ice cream coated with cocoa pops. I wanted the Ol'Vanilla as it was coated with almonds but after ordering, a staff came back to explain that they had run out and recommended this instead.

Despite it's glamorous look, it was actually completely frozen. It took about 10 minutes of starring at it on a plate, before my teeth could BITE into it. There's chocolate ice cream all the way to the bottom of the cone as well! I loved the creamy, sweet and slightly bitter chocolate ice cream!

Swensen's has developed over the years to become a restaurant chain offering not only ice cream, but fun and friendly casual-dining with a wide selection of hearty food, desserts, beverages, ice cream cakes and takeaway novelties.

For christmas this year, if you looking for a dine-out family meal, do give swensen's a go! Their food offerings might just surprise you like they did to my expectations!

The last time I ate this, it was during a lobster special for Swensens and they only sold it for a short period, but I'm super delighted to know that they have this on their regular menu now.

The lobster still tastes fresh and the bread is just as crispy and delicious. I'm addicted to this! It comes with a side coleslaw and french fries.

The portion here is definitely enough for 2 people. It can get also get a bit gerlat. I loved the meatballs, they were pretty tasty and juicy.

3. Chendol Delight $10.90++

As a chendol lover, I decided to get this. There were alot of attap seeds. The chendol jelly is the dark green kind which was slighly harder than the light green kind.

The gula melaka ice cream was very lemak, I'm sure lots of coconut milk was used to make this ice cream. There were also several attap seeds and red beans inside the sundae.
All in all, a comfortable place to bring the family and get a meal along with an ice cream treat for everyone to enjoy!

The portion here is really pretty big and fills up your stomach! I have ordered the crispy cereal chicken which is one of the new dishes they have here. It tasted good with the coleslaw beside so you won't get sick of the taste easily. They fried it pretty well and the chicken was really crispy. Fries were fried well too. My friend ordered the burger instead and the meat is succulent!

After our lunch at Concetto by Saveur. We had dessert at Swansons. Ice cream $12.80 for 2. Fried scallop and fries $6.80The food is very cheap bug the service is lacking. The waiter did not check with us if we want the ice cream after the snack. Hence we ended up eating melted ice cream.

I had a Christmas Party and the host ordered Swensen Ice Cream chocolate log cake. It was about a 1.5 kg cake. When the cake was served, it was still hard and had not melted. Once it was cut, the chocolate had made it easy to eat. The ice cream was not too cold to cause sensitive toothache. It cake was not dry but it was perfect as ice cream. In fact, I did not see that I was eating cake. I was more of eating ice cream. It was a wonderful ice cream log cake.

sourdough 49ers sandwich with chips and coleslawi love this! the saltiness of the bacon added flavour to the sandwich and it was really delicious. the bacons were not the fatty kind too so girls will love it. the fries and coleslaw tasted average though. the chicken breast was also tender, though lacking of flavour.grilled barramundi with lemon butter saucethe vegetables were rather bland and had no flavour. the grilled barramundi was not very tender but still acceptable. sauce was kinda weird.

Smoked Salmon Salad in Mango Sauce: I've always loved smoked salmon, so I ordered this salad. The mango sauce seemed special and mixed well with the salad. Banana Crumble Sizzling Pan: This is one of the must-try desserts in Swensen's. The banana crumble cake is warm, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and served in the hotpan. then the waiter pour the caramelised banana with syrup into the hotpan, the sauce quickly sizzle and the whole dish became very tempting. My friends and I started to tuck in before the ice-cream melted. Though it's very sweet and fattening, it's one of the most sinfully nice desserts.

After having dinner, my cousins and I had cravings for ice-cream, so we decided to have some at Swensen's. Swensen's have a wide range of ice cream flavours, so naturally we thought of having ice cream there. We ordered their 'Giant Earthquake', which consisted of 8 scoops of different types of ice cream, topped with cherries and whipped cream.

Giant Earthquake was served it with dry ice in the middle, making it look really grand and delicious. As there were 4 of us, each of us got to choose 2 different flavours of ice-cream. We chose Butterscotch, Hazelnut, Durian Supreme, Milo, Mocha Almond Fudge, Ol' Fashioned Vanilla, Mango and Lime Sherbet. However, to our dismay, our ice cream arrived half-melted. Apparently, it was left on the counter for quite some time before it was served to us as the staff forgot about it.

Butterscotch: This tasted just alright to me. Plain boring butterscotch, nothing special.
Hazelnut: Light hazelnut flavour.
Durian Supreme: The BEST of the lot. Strong durian flavour, smooth and yet you could feel bits of durian meat in between. A definite must have!
Milo: Just milo. But still nice nevertheless. A must try if you're a Milo lover like me!

Mocha Almond Fudge: Mocha flavoured, with bits of almond in between. Nice combo.
Ol' Fashioned Vanilla: Nothing could go wrong with vanilla right?

Smooth texture, and have a strong vanilla smell to it. Must-have in every ice-cream feast.
Mango: Nice and sweet mango-flavoured. I love mango ice-cream, so this went down with me well.
Lime Sherbet: This hit the right notes with me. Lime flavoured, with the right amount of sourness to it. Refreshing!

Overall, the price is worth it since we got to choose our own flavours for the ice-cream, and the ice cream itself are not bad too. Definitely will go again! Just hope our ice cream will be served frozen!

i feel Swensens serves one of the nicest and crispiest chicken and i especially love this chicken fingers that is seen over here. This crispy dish is really finger licking good and the chicken is still not too bad even if it is kept for a few hours and being made hot. The fries that accompany the chicken is also really good and this dish is really addictive and yummy.

I had the beef stroganoff baked rice when I visit Swensen’s one day cos I was craving for some baked rice. Ditch my usual curry chicken baked rice and chose this instead, and I was disappointed. The baked rice is cooked perfectly, the rice is just nice, the cheese melts evenly and the beef… it was so tender and juicy! I would consider having this again if I wanted some baked rice in future. Service was good as the waiter is prompt in our ice water refills.

Topped with crispy breaded chicken cutlet and accompanied by fresh lettuce, tomatoes and olives, this salad is really a good way towards cultivating healthy eating. Non-vegtable lovers would love the crispy and hot chicken cutlet and the chicken goes really well with the vegetable leaves and salad dressing. A great way to incorporate healthy eating into one's meal.

Swensens used to be popular for their wide variety of sundaes, until many ice cream joints started sprouting all over the place. It has your usual flavours, and combination of chocolate/caramel sauces tastes conventional. Nevertheless, presentation of the sundae is commendable. However, it may be overly sweet for some, and it should be shared with another person, as it will get "jelat" after a few mouthfuls.

This is the first time I'm trying the cream of carrot of Swensens, which was really good! I was expecting something very carrot-y when I heard the name, perhaps entirely orange in color. Yet I was still curious enough to try it. In the end I really liked it and I ended up eating the whole soup up! There was faint carrot flakes in the soup, and also a soft hint of carrot. Other than that it was just sweet and savoury at the same time and really yummy. If you've been shying away from this Soup of the Day at Swensens, why not give it a try? It's really not as carrot-y as you think.

Impeccable service despite all the dinner crowd, and no rushing to get off the table at this branch because the place is huge.

There's GST/Service Charge though, so it was a little expensive. But at least at Swensens, there's a comfort that it will always be good.

The price was on the higher side since it's an ice cream cake. Reasonably priced I would say.

It took quite sometime for the waitress to get to me as it was dinner time.

Overall
Not bad. I would consider getting their ice cream cakes again on special occasions.
