I was craving for a high tea buffet and ended up in an impromptu visit to Tea Lounge. The price was a 'mental barrier' to overcome, and I sort of hypnotized myself that the price was totally justifiable as an afternoon tea buffet simply means 3 in 1 aka 3 meals taken together! And yes, I shamelessly stayed till to the end with a bursting tummy. =p The moment I stepped in, I was so excited! The place looked posh and the desserts strategically placed at the entrance were so colorful & appealing! And I was most regretful that I didnt have my camera with me, which explained the poor quality photos. Urgh.... >.<It was a 'fantasy land' filled with macaroon, pralines, cakes, waffles, pancakes, ice-cream, fondue! I was so tempted by the desserts that I simply ignored the sequence and just ate the sweets between savories. =pWell if you are not a sweet tooth person, there's plentiful of savories items as well! Local Delights: Laksa & Kueh Pie TeeThe buffet also includes 2 choices of tea, coffee or chocolate. Not bad right? I had a good time stuffing myself silly here. Although the price is not an everyday affair, it's a good place for occasionally pamper time. So go on, pamper yourself. You deserve it! =)Click on http://fun-hideout.blogspot.sg/2014/09/tea-lounge-regent-hotel.html to read more & see photo! ♥ ♥ ♥ 繼續閱讀

So, besides providing a luxurious ambience and elegant, tasteful setting complete with polished marble floors and ornate furniture, Tea Lounge also offers a wide selection of delectable-looking items for the high tea session. After ordering my Shanghai Rose tea, it was time for us to check out the buffet counters. There were many different stations serving different food such as salads, cheeses, sushi and smoked salmon, roast meat and desserts. We were spoilt for choice. I began to dig in, beginning with a modest selection of Chicken Pie, Fig & Walnut Tart, Mini Sandwich with Smoked Salmon, Mini Sandwich with Shrimp and a slice of Mushroom Quiche. Everything was dainty and tasty - but I thought that the Fig & Walnut tart had kind of an acquired taste, a heavy "woody" flavor. My next indulgence was a platter of Chicken Barley Salad, Scottish Smoked Salmon, Smoked Tuna, cheese, fruits, crackers and caviar. I loved the Scottish Smoked Salmon the best - unlike the usual smoked salmon which was salty and dry, this was succulent, bouncy and had a sashimi texture. Finally, the sweets. Ok, but first, see the Shanghai Rose Tea? This is an absolute darling - fragrance of roses infused with the aroma of lychee. Desserts consisted of Raspberry de pate, slice of chocolate cake, brownie on ice cream stick, macarons, marshmallow with hot fudge sauce and Panna Cotta on the side. I absolutely enjoyed the Brownie-on ice cream stick - what a unique concept , the sweet, crusty pastry mounted on a stick. For more detailed information and photos, do check out:http://thearcticstar.blogspot.sg/2014/02/high-tea-at-tea-lounge-regent-hotel.html 繼續閱讀

Tea Lounge at the Regent Singapore serves an eclectic mix of food – English, European, Japanese and Singaporean local delights. The variety of food is pretty decent for afternoon tea. At S$52++ per person for weekend high tea, your tummy will be thoroughly spoilt for sure.As Tea Lounge only serves high tea buffet on weekends, be prepared to make an advanced reservation of at least one month ahead. The open-concept lounge is located at the lobby level of the hotel. The bookshelves filled with literature and art pieces make this feel like a cosy living room. The wooden furnishings and warm lighting exude an old English vintage grandeur. Certainly a lovely setting for relaxing over tea with family and friends. The high tea buffet includes free flow serving of freshly brewed coffee, fine tea selections and hot/cold chocolate.Tea Lounge is famous for its English scones and clotted cream but I beg to differ. I have rather high expectations for scones after having tasted really good ones in England so unfortunately, these scones have not quite made their mark for being fluffy and moist inside. And their clotted cream is also no where near Rodda’s which is commonly sold in UK. But if I were to compare with other scones I have had in Singapore, these would probably be the best among all. Well, at least they know how to pair them with clotted cream and jam!Anyway, despite the scones being unexciting which is not a big loss to me, I’m thrilled with what the rest of the buffet has to offer. Savoury sandwiches, refreshing appetisers & salads, caviar, delicious pate, smoked salmon & sushi, carving station, Asian corner, quiche & pot pie, cheese board, huge array of lovely desserts, gelato & freshly made crepes & waffles and dainty cookies. Did I miss out any? There’s just so much food, I don’t think I even manage to try every single bit of them! Some notable items that I went back for seconds and thirds include the seafood salad with the freshiest scallops and crunchiest prawns ever, the ‘unsightly yet most delightful’ duck rilette with melba toast and the always-popular smoked salmon. Simply scrumptious! The Avruga caviar looks luxurious but it’s not really my cup of tea. Except for being salty, salty and just salty if you just eat it on its own, there’s really no other flavours to boast of. Neither does it enhance any other dishes because it just leaves you a briny aftertaste on the tongue. It’s probably an acquired taste. Either you love it, or you hate it.The cheese board is worth mentioning. The Wensleydale cheese with cranberries rocks. I don’t really like strong cheeses so this is a real delight for me with a mildly sweet taste from the cranberries. The smoked cheddar is quite a hit too.To continue reading, please visit http://springtomorrow.com/2013/08/26/weekend-high-tea-buffet-tea-lounge-regent-hotel/ 繼續閱讀

This is one popular dining place for weekend hi tea buffet...we had to make our booking 3 months in advance to secure enough seats for a big group. The dining area has an English Reading room style decor with cozy couches and coffee tables. The buffet spread here is huge...cheese station, salad, sushi, sandwiches, local delights and a big spread for dessert station too. There is also a live station producing piping hot souffle and crepes on request. Everybody loved the chili crab seafood gravy with fried mantou dish...we had repeated servings of that! Desserts were nice to look at but doesn't taste as good as it looks...my lavender macaroon tasted like...air freshener!Service was mostly ok, they were slow at times during busy hours but were very friendly and polite. Nothing much to complain about. Prices was on the high side but worth visiting at least once to try out their signature dishes. For full review - http://midas400.blogspot.sg/2013/01/best-hi-tea-buffet-at-local-5-hotel.html 繼續閱讀
