My friends and I were in the mood for Thai food. So we decided to eat at ThaiExpress after seeing it right away. The place is cozy, suitable for family dinner or gathering with friends.Thai Iced Tea - $4.90. I've been ordering Thai iced tea several times in several restaurants, and they all taste nice. But not this time, in ThaiExpress! I don't know why but it tasted very weird, like they put a kind of spice inside. Won't order this anymore.Phat Thai Talay - $12.90. I thought it's supposed to be written as 'pad Thai'? But anyway, pad Thai is Thai rice vermicelli with beansprouts, squid, shrimp, fish slices, egg, chives, dried chili, lime, and ground peanuts. The taste was very authentic. Sweet, sour, and savory flavors blended nicely together in this dish.Khao Gai Ob Nam Pheung - $10.90. Rice with honey chicken. The rice was very little (I finished the rice even before the chicken), but fortunately the chicken was generous. The honey sauce was sweet, but not overwhelming.Overall, I was satisfied with my meal. All food was delicious. However, as a restaurant that charges for 10% service charge, I feel like the service given was not worth the tax paid. The service wasn't great. One of the staff just put the utensils in a rather rude way. She dropped the tissue down from the table yet she didn't say anything and let me pick it up by myself. Should improve more on customer service. 繼續閱讀

i was craving for some delicious thai curry so i headed to Thai Express for dinner. I ordered their Kaeng Daeng Gai which is Chicken with potato in red curry. It was really good. the curry was very thick and tasty. It was pretty spicy but when eaten with rice, it tasted just right. the chicken was very tender and delicious. the red curry had infused into it making it very tasty. I recommend this dish! it is really fantastic. 繼續閱讀

Phad ThaiTom Yum Soup (fish) with glass noodlesMe and my friend shared these 2 dishes and our verdict is the tom yum soup is better! the phad thai was rather average, and with the price paid it is not very worth it (around SGD$13 after GST & service charge). On the other hand, we love the tom yum soup! don't be fool by its "innocent" appearance, it is actually very spicy. The fish are fresh and do not have the "fishy" smell. Glass noodles are very chewy too. Overall, this dish is much more value for money than the phad thai. 繼續閱讀

Was rushing for a movie and the service staff were taking their own sweet time which infuriated me! I was a little anxious already and their slow-motion service was seen as twice as slow by me. Luckily the manager was all smiles and told me they're doing their best to whip up the dishes. I ordered the SenLek Neua - $12.90 (Stick Noodle with Sliced Beef in Beef Broth) It was quite.. bad. Luckily the beef was still soft and chewy and you can clearly see the small bits of beef floating around in the soup. But I prefer the Vietnamese version of it as this version really lack a distinct Beef noodle taste. As I couldn't finish my meal and the movie was starting soon, I quickly asked the waiter to pack my food for me. Cue the slow motion music please. I was waiting with my bill in hand at the door when he hurriedly pass me my leftovers and apologized. This dish was not very good, unless you want to try something for the sake of trying. But the service (but some staff) made up for it. 繼續閱讀

I am doing some shopping when I notice this big jar of green jelly at Isetan Thai Food Fair, which looks much bigger than the type used in chendol. I ask the staff if it is similar to chendol which he answers yes. As it looks very interesting, I decide to order one for takeaway, and also a packet of phat thai as he said it is freshly cooked. Both are nicely packed into containers, with chopsticks and spoons.Phat Thai Talay ($5.00)It comes with 3 juicy prawns, alot of fried bean curd pieces and topped up with chilli flakes and chopped peanuts. It tastes a bit sweet and the noodle tends to stick together but when mixed with the chilli flakes, it becomes super spicy. Lod Chong ($5.00)It looks good but the taste is another thing. The green worm like jelly tastes like kueh, not like chendol. I am quite disappointed in the taste and also it is not sweet enough. Very chewy in texture. I feel that the coconut milk is sweeter than the green jelly. 繼續閱讀
