The Café Cartel (已結業)

As the title states Cafe Cartel is really the perfect place for cheapo Singaporeas, in my opinion. Theres unlimited supply of bread for all customers regardless of what you order. So you can walk in, order a drink and just keep going to the bread counter for more bread. Course i didn't do that Their cakes are always too tempting. What i like best about their bread is that they have different varieties and all come out hot from the oven. A tip if you plan to target the bread, sit near the kitchen where you can see whenever a freshly baked loaf is brought out of the kitchen. At the bread counter, its self service- you slice your own bread - do take only what you want to eat, don't waste food. Theres also baskets of spreads and butter to take. Caution: if you are ordering mains, do not take too much bread because really, it will make you so very very full. About this outlet in Plaza Sing, i found it too crowded. We had to que outside for quite a long time for a table for two and its very squeezy inside, rather hard to get out to the toilet because you have to weave in and out of the chairs and go excuse me a zillion times. Yummy St Louis Pork Rib! I think it's very well known so most people should have try it? If not, you better try it soon! It's not too expensive because the portion is SO BIG that you can actually share with one person (but i guess that would only apply to girls or kids or guys with small appetite). They spam the sauce/gravy so it's difficult to finish it.I love the meat of the pork! It's so delicious! With the gravy, it's godly! I had one whole plate to myself and I took about an hour plus to finish? Because it was so fulling! Plus, it's so difficult to take the bones out. I am impressive by the generous portion and well cooked breakfast by Cafe Cartel Plaza Singapura. Breakfast is only available during weekends and public holidays. All breakfast set meals also includes free flow of in-house bread, coffee and tea. Cosy environement which is suitable for family outhing and gathering with friends. I used to think cafe cartel is just another place that serves typical western food restaurant, except that they provide free flow of bread. But I was wrong! They do serve sumptuous meals, sometimes even unique combinations that satisfy your cravings. For example, this spaghetti comes with fish and chicken, giving you the best of both worlds without having to ponder whether you should have fish or chicken when both looks equally tempting. It seems like i am always going back to the same place for meals these few days. And with the current promotion on the ribs going at just $11.80, who can resist the temptations? I had the honey ribs this time round, which is sweeter than the St louis ribs. The portion is huge as always, so i have decided to share the ribs with friend and go for a dessert instead. Wise choice, as i do not feel stuffed after this meal. Brownie with ice cream sound like the perfect dessert to have and that is what we ordered. It seemed like we are always back to ordering the same thing when ever i went back to cartel with friends. There are two pieces of brownie, which looks the same but are actually different. One of it has a chocolate fudge top with nuts, while the other is just a plain brownie. The taste is not rich in chocolate, just normal cake-like instead of being the dense chocolately kind. Friend's birthday celebration at cafe cartel. My friend ended up being pressured to stuff the entire banana chocolate cake (from cafe cartel) into the mouth! Was told the taste was not bad.Overall feel of the restarant is good, suitable for young people to hangout with friends, like in my case, birthdays.Food is good, especially the soup and the rib. The ribs are worth a buy and beware of the portion. For those who has small appetite, do share it with someone. My friend (a guy) could barely finished the entire serving!Im surprised that they pay attention to the details of the plates too.
