The ribs were on a promotion and it was definitely value for money. Cheap and good in fact! The promotion has been going on for some time now, and I wonder when will it end. Although on promotion, the size of the ribs is still large and meaty and definitely fulfilling. The meat is tender and sweet with the honey. It comes off easily from the bones too. Ribs are the best part of a pork, and it just taste nice with any sauce. And at cafe cartel, the ribs are only going at $11.80! Whoa! :) And there is free flow of bread! I had my usual honey ribs, which is sweeter than the normal St louis ribs, and they have a new black pepper one, which i shall go and try out one of these days. Ribs wise, the standard has always been there. It is good food. For the sides however, the amount of fries that they give seriously depends on their mood. I know that most restaurants would not count the number of fries exactly, but, when i compared my dish with the next table, i cant help but to get depress over the amount difference. It is good that they provide free flow of bread, so you can take a bite while waiting for your food to come.My order was for a black pepper pork chop.Servings is quite big.However the black pepper taste is too strong, and the pork chop wasnt too fresh, it was a bit stiff and there was a "sourish" taste, which the black pepper sauce couldnt musk completely.…查看更多

I went to cafe cartel with my girlfriend for lunch. She simply loves their ribs while I prefer their chicken. Despite the lunch set meal sounding so appealing, we still ordered ala carte of our favorite main course.My girlfriend's ribs was quite a big slab, but there were alot of bones, very little meat.My mississippi chicken was quite big though. The chicken was fried till crispy yet retaining the juiciness of the meat. it was drenched with black pepper sauce. u can choose wad sauce u want.Service wise does need improvement. I ate at Cafe Cartel once because my friend was commenting about how famous their pork ribs were, so we went there for lunch one day and thankfully there wasn't many people around. There were nice sofa seats to sit in, and the decor was really cozy so it felt really comfortable.. As for the ribs, they were filled with this sweet bbq sauce all over. To me, it was a tad too much of sauce. The whole rib was filled with sauce and it was too sweet for my liking. I felt that I could not really taste the pork ribs at all, and was just 'drinking' up the sauce with the ribs. In my opinion, it would have been better if a little bit of the sauce was put on top, and additional sauce at the side for us to decide how much sauce we want to put in, or dip in. It would have been a much better choice. It was a big meal, and you will really need a hungry stomach to stomach it all down. what's the nicest thing u can find at cafe cartel, it is undeniably the ribs!!! the Saint Louis Pork Ribs is a must order, it is marinated with some kind of sweet and sour sauce, the sauce really blends in well with the ribs. it comes along with fries and coslaw. on top of that, there are also free flow of bread. normally the bread will run out pretty fast, so once u see the waitress bringing it out, wait no more, go get it! the bread is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, it is best eaten when just taken out of the oven! apply a layer of butter and u are good to go! yummy!!!on top of that, if u happen to be there at 9pm, all the cakes are half price!!! love the chocolate cheese!!! and carrot cake!!! very worth it to go after 9pm as u can try more flavours at a cheaper price.…查看更多
