This dish is the seafood for two. This dish serves for two or more, as you can see, it is really a very big portion. It includes a fried fish, three fried oysters, fried calamari rings, rice and fries. It also comes along with vegetables which is very fresh and soft. The fried calamari rings are very chewy, best dipped with sauces provided. The fish is fried till golden brown and the fish inside, is dory fish which is why it is very smooth. One of my go-to place for Fish & Chips would be Manhattan Fish Market. Particularly love the Seafood Platter for two which could really fill us up for the night. But i was particularly dissapointed with the soup they gave us. I don't know if it's just this branch but it was pretty runny. We requested to have it changed but the next one came as runny as well. I had been craving for manhattan dory fish, so I paid manhattan a visit to satisfy my craving. Manhattan's chef's grilled catch is my favourite. It is a grilled dory wih garlic herb rice and herb sauce. The fish is really succulent and juicy and is tastes really good. There is a special promotion for dbs card holders. A main course with a drink and soup of the day. However, the main course is rather limited as you can only choose from 4 different dishes. Also, the soup did not taste really good, The cream of mushroom soup was quite diluted tasteless. Nonetheless, the food tasted really good and service provided was up to standard. I've always been more of a loyal fan to Fish & Co compared to The Manhattan Fish Market. On a weekday, I went for the latter anyway because I wanted to try a new taste.I ordered grilled fish instead of fried since my throat wasn't feeling it. I settled for the Chef's Favorite Grilled Catch- succulent grilled dory fish with butter herb rice, topped with garlic herb sauce.The fish was white and fresh, it went really well with the garlic herb sauce. I know Manhattan Fish Market is famous for their Fish and Chips so I went to try it that day! The fillet was really big, just like the one served at Fish & Co. There was tar tar sauce over at the top and some seasoning. The fish was nicely done, cooked till the right texture. The inside was soft while the outer layer was a little crisp. YUM. However, the piece of fish was quite big, I felt a little tired of eating it after some time and took some time to finish it. The fries at the side were fresh and not over-fried. One day, after work my wife call me up to ask me to go Plaza Singapura as she like to go Daiso to buy some stuff. I met up with my wife at about 6.30pm and i told my wife why don't we have dinner 1st before shopping. She suggested to go Manhattan Fish Market as we have long time never dine there. Most people would compare Fish&co with the Manhattan Fish Market. I would say both is closely comparable if you are talking about Fish&Chips.Seafood platter for Two is what i strongly recommend. I am not a fan of seafood, but this is really good. Forget about the oil and fats, focus on the juicyness of the fried mushrooms and the freshness of the prawns.. Dessert at Fish Manhattan, it costs around 3 dollars to 4 dollars so i personally think it is worth it. The serving is not small so you can actually share it with friends. Was there for lunch and I must say the price of $9.90 (lunch time promotion) for an awesome Fish and Chip + free soup and soft drink is a real steal but that is if you are ready to compromise on the service. I wasn't exactly very happy with it as I always believe in a full dining experience rather than just good food. The waiting time was horrible. We waited for almost 45 mins to get our drinks served. I do understand that it's lunch time and to ensure that the food is fresh they only cook it upon ordering but drinks and soup - 45 mins wait ? That's a little too much. 2 coke was ordered but the drinks turn out to be a root beer and an ice lemon tea. - We rest our case as we understand that it's a busy afternoon. This is my second trip to The Manhattan Fish Market and I was amazed by the zest of the restaurant crew. It was a busy day with the April Fool's promotion. They would greet in unison to every group of customers that enters though it was really busy and tiring. Expecting a great crowd, I can see that they are prepared to welcome large number of customers with the way things are organised. Though there are times when I feel stressed to "eat faster" when the crew stood beside me due to the long queue, I am satisfied with their fast and prompt service. There is however one thing that I am confused about: why is it that only the menu for the promotion was given while the 'original" menu was not given. My friends and I were thinking of having some mix and match while I was hoping to order something else as I had a sorethroat and couldn't eat fried food. The fish and the chips tastednice. It would be nice if there is tomato sauce provided as well. (There is only chill and mayonaise on the table.)Having the take-away idea was cool.
