It should probably be renamed as chicken breastmeat? =p2) saffon risottoi like risotto for its rich and creamy texture but apparently the risotto here failed to reach the mark. It tasted a tad sour, which wasnt really pleasant. Oh well, at least the crab meat was fresh.Overall, the bill came up to $40ish, considered expensive for the food quality. =(

The Queen & Mangosteen is a really pretty restaurant located within Vivocity offering waterfront view and beautiful goddess statues at the back / alfresco seating areas. Of course, the interior is decorated in quasi-English style, complete with brick walls and lovely chandeliers. Serving British cuisine with an Asian fusion twist, The Queen & Mangosteen offers a casual chic yet cosy ambience for diners.*Pris and I started with the Thai Crab Cake (SGD$12.00) served with mango salsa with baby cress. It looked good on presentation, and the taste did not disappoint. A little on the spicy side, the crab cakes were crispy on the golden exterior, and the inside was firmly tasty with the luscious flavor of crab.For mains, *Pris had the Pan Seared Barramundi (SGD$26.00) served with risotto, asparagus and salsa verde. *Pris mentioned that while the fish was succulent, the salsa verde was a tad too sour for her liking.I had The Queen's Favorite Fisherman's Pie (SGD$22.00) - a baked dish of white cream sauce , cheese, mashed potato , prawns, snapper and scallops and a side salad. The taste was light, as was the texture. There were three large prawns and a healthy amount of soft snapper, but I did not detect any scallops. An ideal British bistro located with Vivocity, it was a totally lively pub in the entertaining mall. Relaxing ambience and comfortable seating area, The Queen & Mangosteen was absolutely a perfect chilled out place. Extensive Menu was designed, from hearty main course to sweetening dessert, thoughtful chef created the Menu for kids as well. It combined modern and typical cuisine, staffs were attentive when we had queries regarding their dishes.Salmon was grilled until moderate, the texture was just nice without fishy scent. Cheesy and creamy, it went very well to the gravy. Broccoli was the significant dressing, the combination was fine. The price was $28 before GST and service charge, expensive but worthy. Both of us enjoyed the wonderful moment, I like the gorgeous décor and wholesome food.

Was there with a friend to catch a movie, so we decided to have our dinner at The Queen & Mangosteen @ Vivo City. First impression of the restaurant - it was dimly lit to create that kind of "romantic" atmosphere, but I don't like that kind of atmosphere as it kind of make my eyes hurt. Anyway, for the main I ordered myself Bangles served with Mash and Onion Rings. I don't really fancy this dish as the salty sauce spoil the dish and bangles is quite mushy in my opinion... the mash tasted okay, though it is quite dry too. For the price, I think I am paying more to the atmosphere of the restaurant rather than the food itself.

Q&M has long been on my list of must-visit places. I finally dropped by for lunch today, and boy, was I disappointed by the food and the service (staff all had this unpleasant look on their faces, like they didn't want to be there at all, not attentive too)I ordered the lamb shank. It had the Chef's Recommendation logo beside it so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, the lamb was undercooked and the meat looked a little too pale. The sauce wasn't that great either - it just lacked punch.The mash potato on the other hand, was pretty good. Would've been better if they had added more butter - but still not bad.Our total bill was $72+. That's extremely pricey for 2 main dishes and one drink (coke is like, $6). Overpriced but I may come back to give the fish & chips a try, since it's such an iconic English dish. But not anytime soon!
