It had been quite awhile since I last visited the place. The menu had changed alot from what I last had. Besides the bar bites, the place also offers brunch menu during the weekend. It was recommended that reservation had to be made as the place get crowded during weekends. The place was easy to find as it was just a street away from the MRT station. The place was decorated in dark industrial look way. Although there was no service charge on the bill, there was GST on the bill. Remember to help yourself to the ice water on the shelf.COFFEE BALLER ($8.50+)Macadamia Flavoured Espresso Ice Ball served with warm milkBeware of the hot milk when pouring into the glass. It was a refreshing drink to have and one could adjust the richness of the drink to own's taste.Katsuo Butter Sprouts ($12+)Brussel Sprouts, Katsuo Butter, Roasted AlmondsIt looks simple, but it was filled with sweet, juicy, and nutty texture.Mac & Cheese Refined ($10+)Emmental, Cheddar, Mozzarella Cheese, Crispy BreadcrumbsBest had it while it was still hot and moist, else it became quite hard and dry. It was a cheese lover's favourite. The Refinery Zhng Burger EVM ($18+)Crispy Double Chicken Cutlets, Slow-Grilled Brioche Burger Buns, Overdose of Signature Refinery Salted Egg Sauce, Served with Truffle Fries. This item was available only for 3 July. I got to know about it when I saw the picture of it on instagram the day before. The dish took quite awhile to arrive. The truffle fries smelt great with the truffle oil smell, and was dry and crispy. The chicken cutlet was big in size, but would be better if it was a bit more juicy and overflowed with more sauce. I like my burger juicy and dripping with sauce. The salted egg sauce that served with it, was thick and rich, more like a paste.Overall the food was not bad. The place was crowded but not too noisy. 查看更多

The Refinery Singapore is a cafe / restaurant by day and bar by night, situated in an industrial area at the front of Jalan Besar / Lavender area, an unlikely spot for a lovely dining spot to be expected, but here it is - prettily monochromatic in its neat, clean-cut design complete with high ceilings and organised rows of seating arrangement. It double as a "workspace" in which one could rent a workspace for white-collared professionals to co-work together. How neat is that.... a co-working space mooonlighting as a cafe/ bar / restaurant. For food, we shared an appetiser of Salted Egg Onion Rings (SGD$12.00) - the idea was interesting and refreshing, since everyone is wild about salted-egg items these days. The battered onion rings were crispy and one could easily spot the generous strips of onion within the rings; however the salted egg flavour was light to non-existent. Maybe it wasn't dipped with the salted egg before being deep-fried, since the Salted Egg Custard was served on a separate side saucer? We doused it over the onion rings and could thereafter taste the creamy salted egg coating. The Spicy Mee (SGD$12.00) with pulled pork, pork balls, homemade sambal chilli, sesame seeds, pork lard and signature 72 degree onsen tamago egg. The menu description reminded me of Kin Kin Dry Chilli Pan Mee (review here), and to be frank, it did not differe much in appearance and taste - as déclassé as this may sound. Don't get me wrong, I love the Kin Kin Pan Mee a great lot, so this was utterly delicious to me - the curly noodles were springy in texture (aka "QQ"), the chilli was substantial so flavours exploded deliciously in the mouth; the pulled pork strips were tender and saccharine in flavour. The onsen egg was tossed evenly into the noodle adding a velvet touch as well as sweetness to the dish - even for a carbo-avoider like me, I kid you not when I tell you I finished every single bite of this dish. For full review and more detailed information, please feel free to visit:http://thearcticstar.blogspot.sg/2016/02/brunch-at-refinery-restaurant-bar-jalan.html查看更多

Full Review on http://www.nahmj.com/2015/12/28/the-refinery-singapore-jalan-besar-singapore/At The Refinery Singapore, three menu were offerred; Dinner for Monday to Saturday, Lunch for Weekdays and Brunch for weekends. I visited on a Sunday for Brunch.Teriyaki Chicken Don was a bowl consisting of Seasoned Japanese Rice on the bottom (which tasted more like plain white rice), topped with 48 Hours Marinated & Sous Vide Chicken Thigh (like the Chinese Braised Chicken), Creamy Corn Salad, Signature 72 Degree Onsen Tamago, Roasted Sesames. It is a after all a comfort bowl of rice.Chendol Mando Milkshake was with gula melaka, red bean, green jelly, coconut cream, vanilla gelato topped with ondeh ondeh, whipped cream, mini chocolate covered coconut candy. A pity it doesn’t really taste like Chendol as I was expecting.I ended my meal with a Cappuccino. A full body with medium acidity.查看更多

It is so contemporary and when I just went there I thought it serves western cuisines, not until I saw the sake in the store. The mixed style of Japanese food gives traces of modern taste to The Refinery.  The high ceiling made the whole place very comfortable.Although it's yakitori supposedly the main role of the restaurant, it's salted egg onion rings are unforgettable.  If the yakitori is a smaller bite sizes it would be almost perfect.  The small untraditional ramen is also very delicious. The waiters are also very smart and fast.  Great.查看更多
