The Soup Spoon (已結業)

I love the soup from soup spoon and almost tried everything on the menu. My favorite is definitely Simon and Garfunkel Chicken and Mushroom Ragout which I often describe as bowl full of goodies. I never walk out of soup spoon feeling hungry if I ordered this soup, upsize it and make it a meal. I like this soup because of it's sourness and it will not get 'bored' after awhile because every sip is different. For the side (if you ordered a meal) I will go for Chicken Masala Wrap. The spice uses to marinate the chicken is a spot on. Spicy yet flavorful, you will not regret having this! However soup spoon can be quite pricey (usually the total bill will top up to $14) but to me it is worthy for a healthy and hearty meal. …查看更多

Had this soup with my little sister for dinner and we ordered the minestrone soup and the mushroom soup. It was quite nice for a soupy rainy day but i thought the standard of the soup has dropped. I used to really enjoy the taste and consistency of the soup, but this time, i couldnt really finish the soup. As for the mushroom soup, i feel that it should be shared between two people as it gets quite 'jelat' after about 5 spoonfuls. A well-crafted emailer with enticing pictures does work - case in point would be my colleagues and I who eargerly made an appointment upon seeing the emailer to try out the latest Chef Specials at The Soup Spoon at 112 Katong.I could smell the aroma of the piping hot soup as soon as my colleague walked towards the table. True to its advertising copy (how many times have we been duped by flashy wordings?), the bowl was chock full of healthy goodies including carrots, slices of fried beancurd, assorted mushroom, chunks of tender chicken thigh meat, lotus root and cabbage aplenty. The soup, made with miso paste, stock and soya milk, was rich and creamy enough to be satisfying but not cloying. I do have a gripe about the bun though. I got a wholewheat roll studded with dried oats. I know the bun is random, but something more complementary would have been appreciated. (:The Soup Spoon has always been the go-to place for when I need comfort food with their good variety of healthy soups in generous portions and at great prices.
