One day after school, I dabao-ed Tori-Q yakitori for dinner. I ordered one of their bento selections, because I thought it would be more fulfilling to have it with rice, and also cheaper than ala carte yakitori. I needed to wait for almost 15 minutes for my order to be prepared (the place was quite crowded though).Bento B - $5.90. This combo consists of 4 sticks of yakitori: 2 chickens, 1 chicken with green pepper, and 1 chicken ball, served on a bed of rice with their special sauce. I loved all their yakitoris in this bento. The chicken was marinated perfectly, very flavorful, and fragrant. The meat was tender and not hard to chew. Overall, value for money. I would love to try another menus.  繼續閱讀

The stall sells a variety of yakitori, which is actually sticks of bbq meats with sweet Japanese graze. Interestingly the staff at the counter is promoting it as Japanese satay to the public. Besides these, there is also sticks of deep fried items too.The outlet has a small dining area which seats about 15 people.I order a Value set A which costs $5.80. It is a rice bento which has 2 chicken yakitori, 1 pork yakitori, and 1 chicken ball yakitori. For $1 more, it is served with a bowl of miso soup. For a cold wet day, the soup is quite warming to the stomach. The chicken yakitori is quite juicy and soft, as well as, the meatball yakitori. But the pork yakitori tastes a bit dry and hard. 繼續閱讀

My friends and I decided to grab some lunch at Tori Q after a project meeting. The good thing about this Tori Q outlet is that it offer seats for patrons, especially for those who purchase their bento sets and would like to have a seat and enjoy their meals. Some outlets, like the one at Bugis, is a strictly stand-alone stall without any dining area.Anyway back to Tori Q, they offer cooked items on a stick (somewhat like satay) which makes it easy for one to make it on the go. They offer a wide selection, such as chicken, chicken skin, pork, chicken karaage, deep fried prawn and more. Some items like the chicken and pork are barbequed and dipped in their special sauce.I got the bento but i chose my own items, you can also choose their pre-determined sets if you had like. I got the fried gyoza, chicken balls, hot dog and chicken. it came up to about $5.90 in total, including the rice. The bento comes sprinkled with seaweed and pickles. The chicken is quite tender, having been "grilled" on a rotating stripe and marinated in the sauce, as with the chicken balls. I think the sauce is what makes the chicken so nice. The chicken ball seems to be made up of minced meat and some other ingredients. Quite a nice combination and it's easy to eat too. (My favorite item to order at Tori Q) The hot dog is quite normal, tastes a bit uncooked. The fried gyoza is nice! I like the crispy skin! They are also quite generous with the filling and so i think it is quite worth the price! 繼續閱讀

Whenever I run out of ideas for lunch, I will head down to bishan to get their Tori Q set meal. The set comes with rice, 2 chicken stick, I meat ball stick and 1 pork stick. The rice taste great with the teriyaki sauce and shredded seaweed. This set cost about $6 and it fills your stomach. There are 2 more set choices or you can customise your own set. If there is not enough meat for you in the set, you can always add on other meat sticks… 繼續閱讀

If you want to get your Japanese yakitori fix in a fast way, try Tori-Q! There are numerous outlet island wide and can be easily located by its clear glass see through kitchen and yakitori display. I ordered a Set A at $5.80 which consists of 2 chicken sticks, 1 chicken ball stick, 1 pork stick, rice, some purple pickles and a dash of seaweed on top of the rice. The yakitori is dipped into a black sweet and salted sauce before placing them on top of the seaweed bed. The portion is just right and the sauce complements the yakitori. The yakitori is cooked perfectly, soft and juicy, with a little scorched at the side. 繼續閱讀
