I always walked pass this Twelve Cupcakes store at the IMM. Looking at the price, $3.60 each, I always give it a miss as the price for a single small cupcake alone would cost a bowl of noodles at the foodcourt.Today was my payday and I could not resist to buy a few cupcakes to try. I had choose two with chocolate cupcake and one with vanilla cupcake.The cream on the cupcake taste good, not overly sweet and oily, with milk taste and smoothness texture, something like milk pudding.The cake was slightly disappointing though. The texture was slightly rough and stiff, tasted more like a muffin then a cake.

I can't help to say that these cupcakes are way overprice but the taste is irresistible! Well, this is my second time trying it! I choose had chose their all time favourite - red velvet cupcake! It costs $3 for one! The top part was made of some kind of cheese which give a sweet and cheesy taste. The little heart above was just some icing sugar. The red velvet cake itself was nice! It actually used some premium ingredients to make, and the process was right so that the cupcake was not porous. The design and concept of the store makes people feel cozy too!

My friends got me a box of 3 12 cupcakes for my birthday (red velvet, cookies and cream and chocolate chocolate!) - 1 for $3I only managed to snap a picture of the red velvet before it was gone. You can see that it's really soft as it became slanted to one side due to my poor handling. HAHA!The red velvet is one of the best-selling cupcakes due to its simple but yummy taste. The red colouring with a heart shape on top makes it look really cute and princess-y, and also gave it a very distinctive look! Made from cocoa and buttermilk and butter, this rich creamy goodness melts in your mouth and make you crave for more. Calories? PSSH. (the cream cheese frosting on top is supposed to be white, my lighting must've been yellow when I took the picture)

Got this Chocolate Chocolate cupcake ($3) as a snack. It is basically chocolate cream cheese on a moist chocolate cupcake. Seeing as how much chocolate there was in this cupcake, I simply could not resist! Appearance-wise, it was very attractive. However, taste-wise, I thought that the cupcake was a too crumbly and the taste of milk in the cream cheese was too strong. The chocolate balls added a surprising crunch to the texture though. Will try the other cupcake flavours next time.

Twelve cupcakes was one of the first brands that boosted the cupcake scene in Singapore, but having been in the market for some years, I haven't got a chance to try until quite recently! After trying some of the other cupcakes, I realise that twelve cupcakes' cupcakes are priced in the rather affordable range as compared to the rest. I was quite lucky the night I went to get twelve cupcakes for the first time, they were having a buy 4 get 2 free promotion, probably a closing sale as it was closed to 9pm already. I wanted to get 4 initially, so the promotion just means I'll get 2 free! There was a queue but it moved relatively fast. However, when it was my turn to buy, I could only get my hands on 1 red velvet cupcake! The flavours of the cupcake change everyday with the exception of some popular ones like red velvet! There wasn't much I could choose from since only a few flavours are left, so I got mostly chocolate based cupcakes with strawberry frosting, chocolate frosting, and oreo frosting! After trying out the cupcakes in 2 days, I still prefer the red velvet one! Probably because the cream cheese with the chocolate based cupcape combination gives a little sour yet sweet taste, which you will not get sick of it. The oreo one was ordinary and the strawberry one is too sweet for me. I gave the chocolate one to my sister so I did not have a chance to try it.
