Umi Sushi offers cheap sushi and Japanese bento sets near MRT stations. It is very convenient for those who want to buy takeaway sushi along their way back home from MRT Station. However, do not expect high quality food for the price offer. The taste is there though.I had decided to dine in the limited space of seating at this outlet. I choose the sushi that I want to eat and proceed to the order to make payment. There is also a range of Japanese set meal available to dine in. I ordered Wakame udon @S$3.80 , Sake sashimi @S$4.20 (4pcs) and Sake avocado maki @S$3.20 (4pcs). The sashimi and sushi are kept fresh in the displayed counter. Thus, the freshness of the foods stayed. As for the wakame udon, it was prepared on the spot by the staff. It was served in hot condition.The portion is valuable with the price paid. The udon is not soggy at all. There are some Japanese fishcake and seaweeds to make up the wakame udon. The cashier counter staff that served me was an aunty who is very polite to greet with a smile.Overall is a place that you can consider for a quick and cheap Japanese food.

This Teriyaki Chicken Bento is very nice! Affordable and big portion. The rice itself is similar to those Japanese restaurant kind of rice, a little sticky and already has some flavor on its own. The teriyaki chicken pieces were generous too. The chicken is big and the sauce goes well with the rice. I love the sides too! The green vegetable was very nice, although i have no idea what it is, the texture of it is different from other kind of vegetables. Quite chewy and delicious. The mashed potato beside it is very nice too! A little different from the usual mashed potato outside, but it is nice. It has a bit of sweet taste The service is average and there's a little waiting time for the bento.

Bought this for lunch and dine it with my colleagues. When the food were delivered to my office, its look so delicious and tempting. Price reasonable but its not really tasty. Their sushi are all quite fresh but the rice didn't really stick to the sushi. The portion is quite alright. The food is still not exactly up to standard but it's improved. All sushi are freshly make every hours to ensure the quality of their sushi. There is a lot of variety to choose from and they are pretty cheap.

This sushi stall offers a variety of japenese cuisine and its sushi is popular amongst people who wants a quite bite. These sushi were served chilled and a healthier sign is attached to sushi that were much healtheir than others, for example the cucumber and tuna sushi (picture) is listed as one of the healthier sushi for comsumers. The cucumber was a little dry as it has been refrigerated for some time. The rice wrapped in seaweed was cooked nicely and I enjoyed the combination of tuna and cucumber. As for the octopus sushi, the octopus bits were chewy and carries a sligthy sweet taste. The wasabi the store offers was however, disappointing. Bright green in colour, it lacks the taste and spice wasabi usually has.

Rushing for time and craving for sushi? Umisushi is the way to go! Love the sushi here! I usually pack about two boxes of sushi on my way home from school to munch for lunch at home. Love the taste of the sushi. The rice is just nice and not too sticky or slimy. The ingredients are also fresh and not too salty or sweet. They sell udon noodles in the shop too. I have yet to try that but it looks quite delish and very economical as well!
