We order fish and chips and salmon, food so so, service is slow, their fish and chips not so fantastic with normal vegs and potato wedges, salmon taste normal, nothing fantastic for the cooking method, very normal western food, soup only tastes normal, for this price, i could get better food elsewhere, the environment is good, just that quality of food can't make it. 繼續閱讀

This was my first time dining at V8 and the experience isn't very good. The staffs were unfriendly and very not attentive. Potato wedges with cheese. The dish is alright, nothing fantastic about it. The skin of the potato wedges is not crispy enough in my opinion. My main dish - fish and chips. Ordered this as it is a simple dish, its hard to go wrong. The fish were quite nice, without the "fishy smell". Overall, I find the food here really average and I will not return because of their bad service. 繼續閱讀

V8 cafe is located at a corner of Bugis Junction. Unless you have heard of it or happen to walk pass, chances are that you would not have seen it. Pop by for lunch during a weekday on 2 different occasions. Not too crowded. The most 70% occupied.Let's start with the first visit. As it was my first visit, the item that caught my eye was V8 Cafe Signature Dish. After all, the signature dish is the item that will be the differentiating factor. As it was during lunch time, the dish comes as a set along with soup and drink (Ice Lemon Tea). The soup of the day was Cream of Mushroom. Somehow what I notice was that it was half filled. Nothing comes free does it? =) It was a decent mushroom soup.In the V8 Cafe Signature Dish, the main item was the grilled chicken which was accompanied by whipped potato, coleslaw and carrots (boiled). The cheese did not overwhelmed the taste of the chicken. In fact, it complemented the taste. Inside, the chicken is tender and juicy. Outside the skin was crispy at the side. Thought that it was quite an average. But if it is the signature dish for V8 Cafe, then I will disagree as there is nothing special. You can get a similar item at other restaurants or western stalls in coffee shops.Overall, service and ambience was good. If you find the background music too loud, you can request for the volume to be lowered. Food wise it was average.Next will be on the 2nd visit. Again, similarly about 70% occupied.Ordered the Chicken Cutlet $8.80. As it was lunch time, the meal came along with soup of the day and drink (Barley). The soup of the day was Cream of Mushroom again. Was half-filled. This time the soup was not as decent as the previous time. It was quite salty. The Chicken Cutlet was served with salad and onion rings. Just 3 pieces of onion rings which were oily. The chicken cutlet was even more oily. Not a decent dish.Overall, service and ambience was good. But the food this time was way below average - terrible.Detailed review: http://foodiefc.blogspot.sg/2011/09/v8-cafe-bugis-junction_18.html 繼續閱讀

Ham and Mushroom Carbonara at less than $15! Rated: 8/10Love the awesome creamy texture of the carbonara. Totally love the creamy spaghetti and the smell of the ham Here's the soup of the day:The waiter told me that this is the 'Screaming Fish Soup', which I have no idea what is it. Think its some creamed fish soup. Haha! Ambiance is okay, quiet and peaceful. Too crowded during lunch hours, though.Service was not that good. Not enough waiters. And I've waited for almost 30 minutes for the food to be served. 繼續閱讀

I was at Bugis Junction with my boyfriend and we decided to try this cafe that we had walked past on previous occasions. It is tucked into an innocuous corner and didn't seem to promise much but there was a 20% discount on all items in the menu (only between 3- 5.30pm) so we gave it a try. Each main comes with a mushroom soup that contain salmon chunks and 2 sides (i.e. fries, potato wedges, potato salad, garden salad, onion rings). We ordered a grilled chicken chop with mushroom sauce and fish and chips. And an additional plate of fried calamari rings.LikesThe grilled chicken chop mushroom sauce had a certain oomph that I haven't tasted at other places before. The meat was also succulent and soft.DislikesA charge of 30 cents for a cup of ice water (that's probably from the tap). I feel restaurants should never charge patrons for water, especially when there is a 10% service charge.Spending: About $27 繼續閱讀
