I ordered rice, with Chicken Cheese Ball, Quail Egg Wrapped in Pork, Ebi Fry, and Yakitori Chicken. I was shocked when the total bill came up to $7.10. I also asked for a stick of the Deep fried Chicken but the staff did not include that. No wonder I thought it strange when he asked if I would like one more stick.

The Chicken Cheese Ball ($1.60) tastes similar to the chicken cheese balls offered at Old Chang Kee but for the same price, it is marinated and heavily seasoned in the yakitori sauce, thus giving it immense flavour. Nice! The Ebi Fry ($1.30) is a bit pathetic. Though I like the crispy batter, the prawn is really small and meagre. The Yakitori Chicken ($1.10) is also marinated and seasoned in the yakitori season. It is also quite juicy and tender which makes it quite nice. I was expecting the chicken to be tough.
Last but not least was the Quail Egg wrapped in Pork. I did not like it very much because the pork is quite chewy and I couldn’t really taste the yakitori sauce. Overall I think the quail egg is better suited by itself instead of being wrapped in pork. The rice ($0.90) came with the pickles and I like that there is the yakitori gravy over it which adds flavour to the rice.

Food
The chicken meat from the yakitori is too tough and not to my liking. Each and every stick of yakitori comes with adequate amount of sweet sauce. Out of all the yakitori I had purchased, Renkon Tsukune is quite special as it consist of lotus roots, chicken meat balls in teriyaki sauce.

my boyfriend like to eat gyoza so he always like to get some whenever we pass by those snack stores. the gyoza was not too bad, the skin was quite crispy but the one sad thing was that there was no vinegar to go with it. in addition to gyoza, wadori also sell other yakitori stuff and all of them look so appetising.

I decided to eat the gyozas from Wadori as a quick snack. Its $1.60 per stick and each stick has 3 deep fried gyozas. Since its deep fried gyoza, I expected it to be dry. Surprisingly, the insides of the gyoza was relatively moist and the juice was sweet. Anyway, until now I'm not too sure what kind of meat is inside the gyoza. I tried it twice and the first time it tasted like pork but the second time I think there were partly shrimps/prawns inside. The meat is moist too. The outer layer skin w

The set B consists of rice with yakitori (chicken), tsukune (chicken ball) and unagi (eel). It is then topped off with generous amount of sweet sauce that's very concentrated, some seaweed and pickles. Regardless of whether you're dining there or taking away, it'll be packed in a box, which makes it pretty hard to scoop the rice up from with a plastic spoon. It costs only $5.60.

After trying Wadori for the first time yesterday, I had it for dinner again today! I bought the set A, which consists of Yakitori (chicken), Tsukune (chicken ball), Negima (chicken with leek), pork with asparagus and rice. The Negima is probably the highlight of the set. Its a stick of pieces of chicken and leek, in alternative order. Because of the placement, the chicken has a hint of leek's taste when you eat it. Also, appearance-wise, the pork with asparagus is special. They wrapped a bunch of asparagus with a thin layer of pork. The asparagus was very crunchy but the pork did not do much other than wrap the asparagus together. The asparagus's taste overcame the taste of pork. Pretty disappointing considering it looked really good.

Although I really liked Wadori's set A, I'm not a big fan of the set C. I think its overpriced and I was given a relatively small portion of rice this time round. However, taste voice, Wadori did not disappoint. If you're looking to try something special from Wadori instead of just regular chicken on stick, this might be the set you're looking for!

Again, do note that GST is included in the price and there is no service charge!

Wadori has been opened in Jurong Point for some time now. It is located in the Japanese street along with other Japanese restaurants. Honestly, lined up together with the rest of the restaurants, Wadori definitely is not the most appealing (Therefore, is one of the last Japanese restaurants that I tried in the). It has a small space and looks similar to coffee houses like Old Town. Also, its located right next to the car park, so expect many people to be passing by while you're dining. I bought

It has a small space and looks similar to coffee houses like Old Town. Also, its located right next to the car park, so expect many people to be passing by while you're dining.

I bought the "Wadori Set C" which consists of Yakitori (chicken), black pepper Yakitori (chicken), tsukune (chicken ball), pork belly and rice
. Its the cheapest set meal they offer at a price of $5.50. I was served pretty fast with excellent service. However, the food wasn't exactly hot. Neither was it cold. Just, regular warm temperature.

The rice are those long Japanese rice grains. Its very moist, which also explains the high price for just a bowl of rice in the restaurant. Personally, I was unable to determine which chicken was the black peppered chicken and which was the plain. They looked similar and I could hardly taste the black pepper because they had put way too much sauce on the chicken and rice. All the chicken were tender and moist (not juicy). Although they look a lot like satay, they have a unique chicken smell that make them different from regular satay. The pork belly was dryer and tougher as compared to the chicken but I guess that's the essence of pork belly so it was tasty.

Overall, I really liked the set and would try it again. I like how they topped off the whole dish with seaweed, which, by the way, although were in small pieces, gave a sufficient amount of flavouring to the rice. However, the sticks they used to served the chicken are all stained with the sauce which makes it hard to dine neatly. Additionally, it is hard to use wooden chopsticks and plastic spoons while eating from a cardboard box.

Apart from the difficulties that one may face while dining, the set was just perfect and has an absolutely reasonable price. By the way, price is inclusive of GST and there is no service charge!
(Well, b/c it is self-service)
