I first knew about this new hidden cafe through an online article on Burpple. Coincidentally, my friend who lives in Bukit Batok wanted to check out this cafe! This cafe is really hidden inside an alley. If not for my friend who was pretty familiar with the area, I would have been lost! My first impression of this cafe is that their decor is very chic and sleek. The place is divided into 2 areas, the kitchen is behind a sliding door and the other side is the seating area and the counter. The area is quite spacious, but I feel there were very few seats available. A communal table is at the center, with flowers and magazines placed on the table. My friend and I arrived shortly after their opening time and the staff looked really unprepared. As we browse through the menu, we felt kinda disappointed by their pathetic list of food items. To add on to our disappointment, most of the cakes were not available yet since we were too early.
We ordered a 5 oz long black and a 6 oz cafe latte. I felt that the long black was too bitter, the cafe latte however was just right for me, slightly acidity but no bitter after taste. The latte art is really nice!
This cake was the only one available and it tasted very ordinary.
Feeling unsatisfied, we decided to give the savoury scones a try, which took about 15 minutes to arrive. My friend & I didn't like it as it had a salty after taste. We will very much stick to the sweet scones next time! The coffee is not bad but I don't think I will come back here again, unless perhaps I am in the vicinity.
