This was one of the first restaurants we have tried in the new wing of P.S. I remembered when it just opened there was always a long queue. We were looking for a lunch place on the eve of CNY and since all the chinese restaurant were closed for preparation of reunion dinners at night we tried out Hifumi.THey have a really good deal with all you can eat appetizer buffet for any set meal you ordered. I ordered the chicken Oyakoni set with miso soup and rice-- basically chicken sauteed in a hot plate with eggs and onion. Quite yummy but a tad salty. My bf ordered the fried chicken set or chicken Tatsuta set. Chicken was actually very good, especially when you squeeze the lemon on it. However, i find it quite expensive for the small portion. Also, if you eat it just like that with the rice is quite dry.
However, because the set meals come with the all you can eat appetizer buffet, it was very worth it! THere were alot of interesting vegetable-based food such as a sort of kimchi cucumber, steamed baby corn and brocoli, sauteed eggplant in tomato sauce, a type of cheese fondue, chawanmushi, and this very tasty tofu tartine! I think i can be quite full by eating the appetizer buffet alone but since it cost $10.99 to only eat the appetizers it is better to order a set and then get the buffet free!Will definitely come back for the value-for-money-meals!
