Before coming to this place, I have no idea that there is something else other than the usual food court styled yong tau foo or similar. It is essentially a Hakka dish and has its roots in Ampang, Kuala Lumpur (kind of duh but I only knew Ampang is a place in KL after Googling it!). They also serve chicken rice and other roasted meat related dishes, but their specialty is their yong tau foo!The Fried Tofu dish is the dish to order in here. It is really very different from the sort of yong tau fo
This place is quite an interesting find - I would never gotten to this place on my own because of how deeply secluded it is. It could be quite an acquired taste sort of place for people who are not used to this sort of dishes. After all some people do love it so much and don't find it salty at all! Well, to each of his own.
The shop behind in green signboard also reads Ampang Yong Tau Fu, a direct competitor with this 928 Ngee Fou Ampang Yong Tau Foo. Not sure which is better, but I took a peek at the competitor's presentation of dishes which looked neater in my opinion. Taste-wise, it could go either way! Wait till I try that too.
