I’m not a French connoisseur but when it comes to having a classic dining experience with regional French savory (e.g pastries and confectionery), Antoinette is a fine place to go. I greatly applaud them for their attention-to-detail in bringing across the excellent French atmosphere, and sadly the only thing that is lacking is an outdoor platform where the customers can people-watch or sky-gaze, just like they do in France.

We were handed over one of the most huge menu board I’ve ever seen, Menu A La Carte.

We ordered an All-day breakfast of egg with smoked duck breast, served with sautéed mushroom & herbs, homemade Pain de Mie toast and salad with house dressing costing $15.00.

I was really pleased with the way they lay the food out, definitely takes fine culinary skills to keep the dish warm yet presentable.

We also had a Concorde (costing $20.50) which consists of Roasted chicken with bacon and creamy morel mushroom sauce served on the side. We were really paying for the quality of the food, the roasted chicken was juicy inside and totally unlike the dry chicken that you sometimes eat where you have to drink a lot of tea to cover the after-taste. The bacon was not as fatty and the mushroom made me felt like I was on cloud nine. The concorde presents to me a heavenly tasting experience and exceeded my expectations.

For deserts, we ordered Antoinette, an earl grey ice-cream with raspberry jelly and milk chocolate shards (Cost $9.00), a Café Latte ($6.00), and Brittany (a type of macaroon) ($5.00). I thought I was in paradise with my main course, but Antoinette brought me to a higher place than ever, no one can ever replicate that taste that I have in my taste buds. It has surely topped my favourite desert list! I love the intricate heart-shaped design that they did on my Café Latte, it was kind of disappointing that the milk was not as warm as I thought thus the foam formed bubbles pretty quickly and wasn’t nice to chew on.

I think the service was okay, I expected something more like a warm greeting or a smile or a great farewell but it was kind of ordinary. I won’t say I’d come back again due to the pricey food but I would visit once in awhile on special occasions. It’s the place where all women would love their men to bring them to, I’m sure.
