PeraMakan is a well known restaurant which is known for its Peranakan cuisine. Recently it has opened food court style outlet at Tangs Market. At this outlet, it has a limited menu of pre-cooked food and buns for sale. One of the items is its Bento Box Set which costs $7.80. It comes with Beef Rendang, IKan Garam Assam, Nyonya Chap Chye, Steamed Rice and Sambal Belachan. One can also top up an additional $2 for a bowl of fish maw soup. PeraMakan is a well known restaurant which is known for its Peranakan cuisine. Recently it has opened food court style outlet at Tangs Market. At this outlet, it has a limited menu of pre-cooked food and buns for sale.
One of the items is its Bento Box Set which costs $7.80. It comes with Beef Rendang, IKan Garam Assam, Nyonya Chap Chye, Steamed Rice and Sambal Belachan. One can also top up an additional $2 for a bowl of fish maw soup. As I am having the bento box set for takeaway, the staff has advised me not to get as it may not taste as good as having here on the spot. The staff also kindly heat up the meal for me.
Beef RendangThe shin beef is braised till tender in spicy coconut gravy and served with Serondeng. The gravy is very thick with coconut taste and creamy. The beef is fork tender.
Nyonya Chap ChyeCabbage, black fungus, tang hoon, bean curd skin, dried shrimp are stewed until soft and flavourful in the bean sauce. Not too salty and very flavourful.
The dishes are very tasty, and taste even better with the strong flavoured Sambal Belachan.
