Frankly speaking, I never associate Sakae Sushi with the term 'authentic japanese food' or 'good sushi'.First of all their sushi - Selection was okay but the taste are quite average too.I find it no difference between the $1.19 sushi I had at Nihon Mura few days back and the current $2.30++ per plate at Sakae. Opting for a sushi buffet is not a very wise choice.
But for big eaters I think this is the place to make your bucks worth it.
Apart from sushi, I also tried some of their ramen.
Their presentation was pleasant - served in an oversized bowl.
But the taste and broth failed badly.
Ramen texture was below average, broth was plain (Taste more like MSG water to me) \.
Overall, not a good place if you want to have ramen.
