I was given a voucher for a choice of Tom Yum Garlic/Butter Milk Thick Toast + Kopi/Teh at $2.50 instead of the usual $3.30 thus I decided to use it and make my first visit to Toast Box. I choose the Butter Milk Thick Toast with Teh and was told that the toast would be ready in 10 minutes time. Had a hard time finding a clean table. My toast really took about 10 minutes to be served. By then, I have almost finished my cup of teh and the remaining is already cold. I like the way they cut the toast into small pieces and provide me with a toothpick to pick up the small pieces of toast. Before that I was still thinking do I have to use my hand to eat.
The toast was nothing fantastic. Measured at 2.5cm thick (according to their website), the toast is crusty on the outer layer and still soft on the inside. A layer of milk on top of the toast and the butter was abit harden to create the top layer. However, I can taste a bit of garlic in my bread which I suspect they have not clean the toaster after toasting garlic bread.
In my opinion, I find the toast set here too expansive. Even though I try different toppings, I can use that money to buy perhaps two/three sets of normal toast at the hawker which taste even better.
