It definitely caught my attention when i spotted the Chilli Crab Otah amongst others. I have never came across a Chilli Crab Otah so far. Chatted with the auntie a little while she heat up my otah by putting it on the grill. She said, 'No one is interested to make chilli crab otah anymore.' She added, 'A lot of hard work involved and people did not seem to appreciate because of the pricing.' Each Chilli Crab Otah is at $2.00. It is definitely more expensive than the usual range of otah. Each Chilli Crab Otah is at $2.00. It is definitely more expensive than the usual range of otah. I decided to try it out of curiosity.
It was quite a big piece but taste wise, it was pretty average, itsy bitsy pieces of crab meat embedded in the otah paste. It was a little salty and spicy.
I appreciate the innovative thought of creating something different from its competitors but if given the choice to choose between this and the normal otah, i would go with the normal ones.
