Chilling out to great drinks and service

After dinner, *V and I decided to head for drinks at Chijmes. I am glad that even the basement level is restored and in business now, boosting various bars and restaurants.  The European pub has a very beautiful interior set off by its dim lightings and muted hues. We checked out the interior and the exterior of Berlin Bar, and decided to chill outdoors in the chilly breezes of the night. The spacious courtyard area was converted into a colourful array of comfortable-looking seats, of various styles and textures.

 After browsing the menus, *V decided on The Godfather (SGD$20.00), a rather potent and citrusy cocktail comprising of Maker's Mak, Amaretto, Lemon Juice, Egg White, Simple Syrup and Orange Bitters. We were expecting some unique taste or effects with the addition of the egg white, but there was none - probably just smoothening out the drink further?

 I chose one of their signature cocktails, also because of the ingredients - A Day @ Berlin (SGD$20.00), consisting of Aperol, Absolut Mandarin, Passion Fruit Syrup, Grapefruit Juice, Grapefruit Bitters and Rosemary. It was utterly tasty, a blend of sweetness with just the slightest hint of bitterness, bringing out the aromatic of grapefruit amongst the tarty orange fragrance.
