Chic-A-Boo Fried Chicken began life sometime in early 2013, as a hawker western food stall in a coffeeshop in Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8. Specialising in fresh, tasty fried chicken, Chic-A-Boo Fried Chicken has since moved up into fast food, with the opening of their new outlet in HillV2 shopping mall in the Hillview area, in September 2014.
Food at Chic-A-Boo Fried Chicken is Singaporean style Western cuisine. Chic-A-Boo Fried Chicken uses only fresh chicken, not frozen poultry. Taste of their fried chicken is extremely similar to Tenderfresh or Arnold's Fried Chicken, with side dishes resembling Kenny Rogers Roasters. Generally, their fried chicken has a savoury, crisp skin, with a thin golden batter, and succulent, juicy, tender chicken meat. Portions are big for 1 person, and prices are similar to a coffeeshop, budget about SGD $8 per person for a meal here. Worth dining at Chic-A-Boo Fried Chicken at least once!
The Set Meal (SGD $7.90) for 1 person has either 2 pieces of chicken, or 2 pieces of fish, along with any choice of 2 side dishes, 1 regular size soft drink, and 1 Corn Muffin.
Similar in style to Kenny Rogers Roasters, the Corn Muffin (SGD $1.20) is warm, fragrant and soft, studded within with corn kernels. Though it's not as tasty as the original version, it's still pretty good!
