Out of the Pan is a great place to have desserts, especially its sweet & savoury crepes. Located right in the middle of basement 1 of Raffles City, it is impossible to miss it! After a day of shopping or walking around City Hall/ Raffles Place area, you can drop by Out of the Pan for either an afternoon high tea moment or an after-meal dessert. Highly recommend the crepes, which are also what they are famous for. My friends and I prefer sweet crepes, so we ordered one Old Style Rum & Raisin Swee
The Food
The crepes were absolutely lovely! I haven't eaten many crepes to determine how good they are, but I will say that they are very satisfying (not relatively to any other crepes). Both the Old Style Rum & Raisin Sweet Crepe and Tiramisu Sweet Crepe have their different merits.
The Rum & Raisin Crepe has the extra twang of rum taste which makes it really interesting without being overpowering, and the crepe is really fluffy and soft! It makes you feel like you are biting into bits of sweet clouds. The sweetness of the crepe is just right. However if you're not a fan of sweet food, you might find that it is too sweet. The funny part is that it is quite difficult to cut because it is kinda soft and shapeless, so it might not be very glam eating this. But it's really so damn good, you'll want more!
The Tiramisu Crepe gives the feeling of "good ol' yummy desserts". It is just the way you'll expect to be, wonderfully blissful. It is firmer than the Rum & Raisin Crepe and easier to cut, too. I like both crepes!
The Service
Wonderful, polite, prompt, full of initiative, attentive! They are really a wonderful crew that attended to our needs from the moment we reach until we left.
The Ambience
Out of the Pan is quite cozy despite being located right in the middle of Raffles City basement 1! Serving a crowd of mostly families/couples, the place is bustling with soft/mid-tone conversations. I like it because you don't feel that it's too quiet or noisy to have a conversation.
Price
$14 for a sweet crepe. I think there was a 1-for-1 offer there so it was technically $7 each. I think it's quite steep for my usual spending, but if you're in that area and itching for desserts, most of them are priced around this range. The portion was shared amongst 4 of us!
Overall
Loved this place and definitely recommend you to try this place. (Heh you probably walk past this place multiple times but don't realize it!)
