I always get excited by new exotic dessert variations served at Mcdonalds. When I heard they were releasing a special limited durian flavour for their Mcflurry, I got curious and decided to try it the next time I pass by. The Durian Crunch McFlurry costs $2.80 and being a durian lover, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, the dessert did not meet the cut for me. I observed how the Mcflurry was prepared. When I heard they were releasing a special limited durian flavour for their Mcflurry, I got curious and decided to try it the next time I pass by. The Durian Crunch McFlurry costs $2.80 and being a durian lover, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, the dessert did not meet the cut for me. I observed how the Mcflurry was prepared. Essentially, the dessert is prepared with a durian flavoured syrup pumped out of a bottle and mixed into the usual soft serve ice cream and crunchy cereal bits. The durian flavouring was not well blended enough into the soft serve ice cream for me and it tasted a little off to me- perhaps a little too artificial. Next time I have a durian craving, I would rather go to an ice cream parlor that uses real durian fruit in their ice cream.
