It was a hot lazy afternoon. Both my friend and I were deciding on what to eat and initially decided to dine at Popeyes in AMK.However, i suddenly recalled that there was a place with good western food nearby and we decided to make a detour to the famous S11 Coffee shop at AMK.The S11 coffee shop is located opposite Jubilee Complex and is just a stone throw away. Fish and Chips
Firstly, the portion was HUGE. There were 2 pieces of batter fried fish and plenty of baked beans, coleslaw and a slice of toasted garlic bread.
I always like to start off with the garlic bread. The garlic bread here is fragrant and buttery (i love butter!) but it was toasted so much that its texture became super crunchy, much like a cookie or biscuit. I ate half of the 'biscuit' and left the rest alone.
The fish was pretty good, the batter was nice and crispy, while the fish inside was hot and steamy, and was pretty thick and juicy.
I can't comment much about the baked beans or coleslaw, as it was pretty average.
As this stall is located at a coffee shop, don't expect too much from the service staff or environment. We were bugged by annoying bees so much that we decided to shift to another table.
The service staff was also rather rude. When both of us wanted to pay separately, she was very unhappy that she had to go back and get change for us. (and the stall was so close please)
Begrudgingly, she comment in mandarin 'Next time you want to pay separately must say!'
Will only consider coming back if i have a strong cravings for the Fish And Chips here. And honestly, $6 for a plate wasn't very cheap to start with, if not for its huge portions of food.
