Decided to try one of the many izakayas around Tanjong Pagar after work with my friends, did not regret it. I was quite impressed with the variety of food they had. They had chicken heart, liver and gizzard yakitori, just like they serve in Japan itself. The side dishes/appetizers like the gyu ponzu and the ika kuro age were really yummy, and went well with my cold sake (which was served in a very interesting jug that keeps the sake chill throughout).
