Pasir Panjang is my neighborhood hawker center, so I was excited when a Thai stall opened up. Pasir Panjang is my neighborhood hawker center, so I was excited when a Thai stall opened up. The first time I ate there I ordered a green curry and papaya salad which, while fine for a hawker center, didn't impress me to go back when there are so many other great places to eat.

A few months later I walked over for dinner and found most of the stalls closed... except Bua Thai. This time I ordered the phad ka pow (stirfried meat with basil), which is one of my favorite street food dishes in Bangkok. It was *perfect* - as authentic as anywhere in Thailand with minced meat, lots of salty fish sauce, and a potent kick from the sliced bird's eye chilis! Get it topped with a fried egg (ideally a runny yolk) for a really satisfying meal for $5.

I eat here at least once a week!
