They used to have long queues snaking for their bowl of beancurd that cost double the price compared to traditional ones in hawker centres. I like the texture of Lao Ban. It's firmer than traditional ones, but still maintaining its smooth and silkiness. I like that the standard is very consistent no matter which outlet you are buying from.

The tau huey is also not overly sweet and the interesting thing is when you leave it alone for a while, there seems to be a layer of skin formed on top. Some may find it a bit scary but I actually like the taste of the skin. It's powdery nice.

Overall, thumbs up for lao ban beancurd.
