Someone got us a kueh lapis cake from Jack's place at the last minute as a substitute for a birthday cake for my niece. It's CNY's period and the year of the Dragon, so not surprised to find the decorations on top of the cake had something associated with it. I tried a piece of the lapis and felt that the texture of the cake was good, soft and slightly moist but the taste was not I expected a lapis to be, it had a strong taste of essence which left behind a lingering taste effect after eating. i
