Available in 15 flavors, Darcis's robustly flavored macarons boast satisfyingly crunchy and meaty shells. Out of the four flavors I tried, the star performer was the Chocolate macaron, which boasted a smooth, refined ganache. The Blackcurrant Violet macaron also pleased with its generous layer of fruity buttercream.Being a fan of macarons with tender interiors, I found Darcis' macarons too chewy for my liking. Being a fan of macarons with tender interiors, I found Darcis' macarons too chewy for my liking. My vote still goes to those from Jewels Artisan Chocolate. But of course, nothing compares to Pierre Hermé's- more about them another time!

I also had La Dame Blanche ($8.80+)- a cold creation featuring lusciously smooth and rich vanilla ice cream served with chocolate sauce and chantilly cream.
