We visited Mellben Seafood for a taste of their famous claypot crab bee hoon. We went to their branch at Toa Payoh instead of the main restaurant at AMK. We arrived before 6pm for dinner and were able to find seats, but when dinner crowd comes, do expect to wait.Perhaps I was setting my expectations too high, but I was not very impressed with the Claypot crab bee hoon served. We arrived before 6pm for dinner and were able to find seats, but when dinner crowd comes, do expect to wait.Perhaps I was setting my expectations too high, but I was not very impressed with the Claypot crab bee hoon served. I did enjoy slurping on the smooth noodles with the rich creamy crab broth for the first few mouthfuls, but I did find the soup a little too salty for my liking subsequently. The crabs were huge and fresh though. If you really like the soup broth, the staff can top up the soup too.
