So I heard about this hidden gem somewhere in Far East Plaza. I was really puzzled when my friend told me it's hidden in the 5th floor and I thought to myself - isn't that floor full of hair salon and massage parlor? Why would there be a authentic Japanese restaurant opening among the smell of hair spray? Of cos I was wrong. It will not be easy to simply just walk past Wasabi Tei - their bright green signboard is difficult to not be notice. I walked in to find myself going in to a cramped 16-seater Japanese kinda of "bar". With only the counter seats available, it is not recommended to go in huge group. The menu offered is straight to the point - just two pages of it stating what is serve there. I had the Teriyaki Chicken set, which comes with a appetizer dish, rice, teriyaki chicken, miso soup and fruits. Do note that there will be a mandatory $2 fees apply for drinks, which basically means it is compulsory for you to drink something in there. I was quite pleased when my dish is served. Portion of the chicken is big, but the rice is a bit too little. The miso soup taste authentic and I love the teriyaki chicken the most. Juicy and flavorful meat. Definitely will be going back again.
