I was here for a group lunch with my friends. I thought we were early since we reached there at 12 noon but the place was already full. Thankfully, we waited for only about 15 mins and then we got a rather nice area inside for our group of 8.- Surroundings in the restaurantI ordered the cold green tea noodles which was a bit disappointing. - Cold Green Tea Noodle with Seasoned Scallop ($6)I also tried their croquette balls which again were very small. It was rather tasty, but I couldn't taste much of the duck - can't tell if it's really that, I only got a few chopped bits of meat inside.
- Smoked Duck Croquette Ball ($3.70)2 of my friends ordered the unagi don set. Review from them was bad, there was not enough sauce so the rice beneath was too dry.
- Una Don lunch set served with miso soup ($12)The salmon with soy sauce sushi seemed to be a great deal. But well, as they say...you pay for what you get. The salmon on top was actually just salmon skin marinated in soy sauce which had a bit of bbq taste to it. Didn't like this sushi as well.
- Salmon with soy sauce sushi ($0.40 per piece, limited to 2 per pax)One friend loved her ume sushi set though. Unfortunately I don't eat raw food, so I can't do the tasting myself.
- Ume roasted sushi set served with miso soup and steamed eggI had a taste of the steamed egg with crab meat that came with the ume set. Tasted not bad, it was sweet with the crab meat. However, it's quite watery, which might not go down well with those who like their chawanmushi firmer.
- Steamed egg with crab meatHot tea is complimentary only if you spend more than $10 per pax. Hmmm, the tea tasted more like malt tea than green tea to me, but I did not verify with the staff.
- Hot teaGenerally this place might be ok for a casual meal, but I probably will not be back anytime soon.
