When I first dined at Popeyes, I was surprised they called their bread "biscuits". In fact, this is one of their signature dishes. Actually, the texture of the bread does explain why it is called biscuit. It is not exactly crunchy, but neither is it soft like bread. The biscuit is relatively dry and have a heavy flour taste.
