I went to the Jalan Kayu outlet for a weekend dinner. Parking was quite bad. For restaurant seating, I feel it wasn't enough because there were only several tables available in the entire restaurant. Though not crowded, the place was really hot and stuffy, couldn't feel any air-con and my friends and I (5 of us) were sweating like crazy. Food took quite long to arrive too. However, service was good, and waiter was really helpful in assisting our orders. The food was also quite decent.Spizza here
This is one of my favourite appetizers and I think you can never go quite wrong with this combination. Rock Melon is sweet and juicy. Parma Ham is salty and strong. Eaten together, it never fails to give my appetite a good jump start. They have all their pizzas named after girls, but I usually depend on the ingredients descriptions to decide which flavour I wanted.
This is Hawaiian.
The amount of ingredients on the pizza is commendable. The sauce and cheese helps to push the standard up a notch. When you bite into it, it is juicy and cheesy; you can pull the pizza away from you and see the elastic cheese strands stretching too. Parma Ham with Rocket Leaves.
This pizza is surprisingly fresh and welcoming; a balanced meal on a pizza with lots of meat and vegetables. Lagsana
This is baked to perfection with lots of cheese, ingredients, and juices oozing out from the sides as you cut into it. Blue Cheese Gnocchi
I actually do enjoy mild-tasting blue cheese. While many shun away from this intense-smelling cheese, I'd say this dish is pretty much tweaked to suit the general taste. The blue cheese here is very much toned down so it's less intense. Cheese lovers or adventurous diners should give this a try.
Gnocchi is generally made from flour, potato and egg, patiently kneaded until the dough forms a ball. The texture is bouncy and chewy, somewhat in a delicate way. You've got to try it to get addicted!
Overall a really satisfying meal!
