Jurong East Mall (JEM) is a newly opened mall with plenty of eatery, and because of it’s crazy crowd , I had to park at IMM and walk over (10-15 min). I’ve heard much hype about this place from my friends. White Charcoal Water (Bincho Filtered Water)They serve this free of charge, but I wonder upon seeing it for the first time, isn’t it “black” instead of white? The taste is like refreshing mineral water. I’m not a water expert so I wouldn’t know if it’s marketing gimmick, but it’s working.Menta

The pasta was cooked Al Dente, flavour-supported with appetizing bacon and crispy seaweed. Mentai (fish roe) pops on each accurate bite between the teeth.
I loved the presentation of this dish especially how the plate compliments the contrast of colours. Grilled Black Angus Beef ($6.80 / stick)
We asked for medium-well , but the first round that came in was well-cooked, when we asked for a replacement, they changed for us immediately, only to result in another overcooked. There is no seasoning in this meat, the beef taste is in it’s original pure state which I’m not sure how to describe because plain is not the correct word but it tastes really good on its own. You can opt for curry salt or plum salt that’s provided on the table. I remembered the price of this dish because it was expensive for a single stick. Cha Soba
Nice and light mellow tasting cold noodles in a hot day always never fails to cool me down after walking from IMM (12pm hot sun). Pork w/mozarella , Pork w/kimchi Skewer
The meat on its own has no seasoning/taste (or rather the original taste of the meat), flavoured by the additional elements of stickychewy melted mozarella cheese hidden inside the pork , totally delicious. And the Kimchi was spicy and opens up the appetite , sets the mood for more. Codfish skewer , Shitake Mushroom Chicken , Mentai Crispy Rice
Codfish is fresh but small miserable pieces and we got the “Fin” part , so good news is we get more Omega 3, bad news is less meat and more fatty.
Shitake Mushroom was very aromatic and easily overpowered the rest of the other skewers on the same plate. Fusing the mushroom and chicken together created a unique texture of tenderness and the saltiness was just right.
Mentai Crispy Rice’s topping was very cream-rich and coated over the crispy grilled rice like molten lava. Grilled Squid
Grilled Squid was perfectly cooked, fresh and succulent. The tentacle parts are surprisingly crispy (usually it’s chewy) , the sauce is sweet and goes well with it. Not sure if it’s teriyaki but I asked for more to dip.
P.S : Thank you for reading till the end. You may go wipe your drool now.
