Biting on a piece of yellow, sponge-like cake reminds my of my childhood. ( spongebob? NO!! ). It's Ma Lai Gao. Direct translation is malay cake. It has a rich flavour of egg and a soft texture, exactly like the one i used to eat when i was young. My dad used to bring my siblings and i to great world city to walk around and to grab a bite most of the time. This yellow character is always present without fail.
