I always reckon Crystal Jade serves descent Chinese food and it's a good place for casual dinner, though the dishes here don't really have so much of the wow factor. We had the Braised beancurd with black mushroom and vegetables ($11.8). The beancurd is slightly hard on the outside, but inside is silky smooth, pretty good. Steamed eggplant with minced meat and preserved vegetables ($10.8) is an awesome dish! I first thought it could be very salty due to the preserved vegetables, but it's not. The saltiness and the sweetness are so well-balanced. The eggplant is steamed till very tender, and fully absorbed the flavourful gravy. It's definitely a great dish to go with plain rice!
