THW is a must go to place for dim sum for Singaporeans- just look at the snaking queues outside the restaurant during its opening hours. The hype for 1 star Michellin dim sum has evidently not died down, so if you want a piece of dim sum here and not wait, it's best to come during non peak hours like afternoon 3pm, where the waiting time is shorter. Not all dim sum is good- but the big 4 heavenly kings are definite must try.
Baked bun with BBQ pork ($4.50) is perhaps the best dish I had. Savoury, sweet char Siew chunks encased in a crumbly, buttery outer shell- makes the ultimate char Siew bun/pastry'
Steamed egg cake ($3.50) is a soft, fluffy piping hot cake with a slight sweet, almost caramalized flavour in it! Every bite is delightful.
Vermicelli roll with pigs liver $5.50 is a unique Cheong fun dish. I felt the pigs liver was a little over cooked, hence slightly tough, but the liver flavor came out nonetheless. The flour skin is utterly silky smooth that goes well with the soy sauce provided.
Carrot cake $4.50 was an ok dish- each slab was glistening in oil, but the sides were pan fried to a nice crispy golden brown.
The problem with dining here is probably enduring the long wait time and squeezing in the packed restaurant. Service staff were generally efficient and readily gave pack out boxes for our unfinished dim sum.
