I have tried many different stalls of Shui Kueh from various part of Singapore, Ghim Moh, Bedok, Bt Timah, to name a few. My favourite is still this stall in Tiong Bahru. It used to cost 25 cents each but now the price has been raised to 30 each, i.e. $2.40 for 8. Even after so many years, it's standard has never dropped. Their service was still very fast.Today, we were at Tiong Bahru for breakfast, and without fail, we went straight to this stall and ordered 8 pieces. The shui kueh were very soft, almost melted in my mouth. I normally wouldn't eat the Chye poh but for this one it was to fragrant to resist. The chilli enhanced the overall taste. The only negative point to me was that it was too oily. On the other hand, it wouldn't be so smooth if it was not for the oil, right? It is definitely a must try if you ever come here.…查看更多

A very pleasant lady stall holder, very precise in her preparation of the noodle. My friend introduced me to this stall and I would say that it was a good recommendation. Personally, I don't really eat pork, but the dumpling from this stall was good. Not the usual chunky and meaty kind. It has a well blended filling with prawn, meat and etc. The really good part of this dish was the noodle. Super Q. The soup was fanastic too, without MSG (can't taste it anyway). My friend and I were arrived at 10mins to 12pm and the stall was not opened yet. The stall holder told us that it would only be opened at 12noon. We decided to wait for it. The crowd around the stall was building while we were waiting. At 12noon, and finally the stall was opened. We were the first on in the queue. I ordered the dry bee hoon without the pork. The bee hoon was very Q. Chilli was great with the dried prawn. The prawns were very fresh and the soup was super tasty. It was really delicious.The cheapest was $5. Though this was the third time I ate this Mala hotpot, it's the first time to write a review on it. It was by chance when I first tried this dish. Ever since then, my friend and I fell in love with it. We couldn't stop thinking of it and that's why there were the second and third time. On our first visit, we didn't know how spicy would the dish be, thus we ordered the least spicy. But it was too mild for me. This time, we ordered the medium spicy one. The interesting thing about this hotpot was that we could select the ingredients ourselves. $1 for vegetables and $2 for meat. Mushrooms were classified under meat so it cost $2. It's morning coffee time. Since I sat at the opposite end from my usual coffee stall, Amos coffee, I ordered a cup from this stall. My friend who was with me ordered the coffee before me and hers came in a small ceramic cup with saucer. When I ordered mine, it was in a glass. I thought it her was cheaper than mine but to my surprised it was the same. It seemed that mine was a little more worth it. The coffee tasted not bad, the right strength and sweetness for me.…查看更多

It was dinner time and this place was flooded with patrons. There was no empty table except one at the innermost section where the little kids corner was. Over here, the chairs seemed smaller than usual. In addition to this designated children section, most of the stalls in this foodcourt has special kids meal. One could even choose to purchase and bring back the cute kiddie lunchbox. Nice, isn't it?Well, I didn't buy the kid's meal, of course. Instead, I bought the ten assorted herbal chicken soup, the only pure chicken soup sold in this stall. I ordered the special pumpkin rice to go with the soup. The soup, by itself cost $6.00 and the rice was $0.80. Initially, I wanted the white rice, but it was $0.50 each. I thought it was more worth it to add $0.30 for the pumpkin rice. And I have to say that it was worth it. The pumpkin rice was very nice. It has some cabbage in addition to the pumpkin. Very tasty and went well with the soup. Some people would say that a popcorn is a popcorn, how different could it be, either salted or sweetened. I said these have not tasted Garrett Popcorn. Yes, it is inevitable that the Garrett popcorns also come in salty or sweet. But the salty one was actually salted with cheese. Very strong taste. Either you love it or hate it. The sweetened caramel one was very evenly coated. Every single 'pop' was glazed with the caramel. Unlike those sold in cinema, full of uncoated white plain popcorn. This was not the only difference, within the whole packet, there was not a single 'unpop' corn. Sure a pleasure munching while watching a TV programme. Yes, the time of visit was last October. No, I didn't make a mistake. Why did I take so long to write this review? Because the stall was not listed yet then. It was by chance that I saw it today, thus take the opportunity to write something about it. This stall has been in the food centre for quite a long time. It was very popular among the resisdents as well as those who work around here. The queue was always long during lunch time. Sometimes they could be sold out as early as 12plus. Their rest day is Wednesday. So if you don't want to be disappointed, avoid this day. If for some reasons, you happened to be there on Wednesday, don't worry. There were many other very good stalls there as well. Please refer to my reviews for recommendation.Look at the picture, could you see how lean the Char Siew are? The noodle was not clustered together,very Q. The filling in wanton has no smell of pork, I believe it contained the flat crispy fish (鳊鱼）. The picture alone has already make me yearn for it. This steamboat restaurant was our favourite. It was also very popular. It has expanded its space to occupy a great area in the basement. Whenever we were there, it was always packed. Tonight, we were a little early so we had no problem getting a table. We ordered the smallest seafood, $38. We requested for no pork, beef and sea cucumber. We ordered $6 of cooked chicken plus the chicken rice of course, not to be missed. The rice was so fragrant that you could eat it up by itself. My kids who normally have small appetite requested for extra bowl of rice.There was a little setback on the raw food part though. To me the quality of the fish was not really good. It's the once a year special day for my son again. Last year we ordered a designed cake from Awfully Chocolate, at Cluny Court for him. This year, unfortunately, the one at Cluny Court has closed down. Initially, I planned to go to the one at Vivo city to make my order but I found this branch by accident during one of my shopping night. I realised this branch was more convenient for me as I would be around this area on the day of collection.This time round, I ordered this normal 1kg original chocolate cake. Ever so lovely. After my hair-cut, I walked out of the Salon heading towards the Kopitiam. I wanted to top-up my kopitiam card with the $10 my hubby just handled to me before I left the Salon. To my horror, it was not in my pocket. I traced back my trail to the Salon but couldn't find it. It was not in the Salon as well. I must have dropped it somewhere between the Kopitiam and the Salon, which was less than 50m away. I was quite upset and disappointed with the dishonestly of the people around. I believed the one who picked it up could see that I have dropped it, because it was in less than a minute from the Salon that I realised that my money was gone. I turned around immediately and it was gone.:( Just have to blame myself for being careless.Fortunately, I still have some money left in the card, not much but enough for me to have a bowl of laksa and a cup of coffee. The laksa was nothing great, maybe it was my mood, but the gravy was pretty blend. I added chilli but it was still not spicy. I haven't been to the Kallang Leisure Park since their last upgrading. Today, we would be watching the 'Saltimbanco' by Cirque du Soleil at the Singapore Indoor Stadum, so we decided to have our dinner here. As usual, my kids never missed a Pastamania. I was not very hungry so I ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad.It came with three small containers, one for the sauce, one for garlic breadcrumbs and one for some tiny red bits which I have no idea what's it. I was a bit out of idea of what I would eat here. Hmm...maybe I would have the Korean food, since I was a little crazy about K-pop recently. (only a little ) Initially, I wanted the Kim Chi noodle but I decided against the idea since it didn't have any meat in it. I wanted something spicy, so I ordered the Ramien or Ramyun with chicken. I liked the Ma La (麻辣) flavoured fishballs very much. The price is $2 per stick and 3 for $5. If you choose to dine-in, you have to paid an additional 10% for service charge. Well, I decided to dine-in today because I wanted to have something else other than the sticks (串串). I ordered three sticks, fishball, beancurd skin and prawn balls.There were three different types of sauce to go with this, chilli, mustard and sesame. I loved the chilli sauce. The mixture of the three was very good as well.In addition, I ordered this Hong Kong French toast ($4) with Yuan-yang (tea plus coffee) ($2). The toast was good especially when you eat it hot. This was the first time I came to this Kopitiam. It was named 'The basement' because it was situated at the basement of Centrepoint, the underpass linking to Orchard Central. It was almost lunch time and the crowd was building up. I have yet to decide what to eat, so I thought of having a coffee first. I saw that the Dim Sum stall has coffee set with some Dim Sum. I ordered the big chicken pao and coffee.I like the pao, especially the egg inside. It's quite hard to get big chicken pao that has egg inside. Good coffee too.:) The set cost $2.20.
