This place is always crowded during lunch hour but the food here is so suitable to our taste buds, that my wife waited patiently for our orders to arrive (LoL).The waitress took our orders promptly and served us side dishes, which we "attacked" happily due to hunger and great taste. Our favou rite side dish is mashed potatoes. It ain't those instant powdery type, not too sweet and there are even diced carrots mixed together giving that unique crunch.Ginseng chicken soup is always my first choice. Pour the rice into the soup makes it even tastier as the rice soaks in the flavourful soup. Chicken is tender and juicy.My wife ordered beef soup but did not quite enjoyed it. The place does not have any air con but it does not lack the feeling of eating Thailand with the Thai music playing. The restaurant offers set meals at $6.90. i took the Pineapple fried rice with ice lemon tea and a small bowl of red Tom Yum soup. It was a huge serving and was informed that i cannot pack it due to the discount given. i arrived at around 4pm on a Sat afternoon and there was no much people but the nice classical music helps in digestion. the service was quite fast and they have allocated different area for those who do not plan to order BBQ and those ordering BBQ. it is good idea. i ordered the seafood toufu soup and every scoop of the soup there is some thing to eat . My wife and I walked past this stall and decided to give it a try. Staff was fast in taking order and clearing Q. We ordered kway teow soup with all varieties of meat, tendons, beef ball etc... of which were well cooked, nice and tender. The kway teow was smooth in texture, with crunchy bean sprouts. My wife and I had craving for noodles from this famous stall and purposely came earlier around 11am but the Q was already LONG... but the 45min wait was definitely worth it (although my wife "suffered" from being "attacked" by mozzies) LOLThis stall's food standard never disappoint us. The noodles springy, great sauce with tasty soup. My wife is a small eater and she could finish the whole bowl of regular size noodles, so for guys, I will suggest getting a bigger portion to fill you up Of course, the pic above is the bigger portion for myself. I decided to bring my wife to Outback for dinner prior to watching a superb performance of Phantom of the Opera. We were both so disappointed with our main dish.My order of 11oz steak was so dry and tough, I had difficulty cutting through the piece of meat. The baked potato and rice were the only tasty items on this plate.Caesar salad was fresh with crunchy croutons. This was the only dish we enjoyed. My wife loves salmon but this piece of grilled salmon was so dry. She left the veggies untouched as they were still raw and hard. 2 pieces of bones were found in the salmon. Just before my show at Nex, I walked past this one - Jack's Place and they are having week day lunch meal deal - Sirloin steak and Mango Salmon.The ambience was quiet as it was around 11am. I ordered middle rare for the steak and my wife took the salmon set together with the fired calamari and some salad. The tomato soup was nice with some potato pieces in it. When the main was served, my wife mentioned that she cannot taste any mango on the salmon but my steak was tender and cook to perfection. Yum yum! This is my favourite with the yellow beans and ikan bilis, there is so much flavour. There is always queue and trust me the soup and the chillis are shiok! So much ingredients to choose from and there are special ones that you cannot find somewhere else. I have been always puzzled by why they do not sell kway teow. Normally, this store would have a queue. So happened when I reached there no one is was queuing at the moment. Compared to the stores that I have eaten at, the soups have been very oily but this one is not. It is relative cheap too. 2 person at $7.80 compared to the others will be charging a minimum of at least $8.00 and above. My wife and I simply love this stall's beef noodles. The soup is clear, tasty and I believe its without MSG as we do not get thirsty after finishing every single drop of soup in our bowls. I endjoyed my meal so much that I only remembered to stop and take pic after eating half of the stuff in my bowl LOL.... Long queue on a Sunday afternoon. Waited half an hour for our turn and finally sat down to enjoy our meal. Ordered fish head bee boon. The fish head is very fresh and the soup tasty (definitely without MSG). Superb value for this meal. Nevertheless must come early due to the queue and this shop closes early. My wife and I have frequented this restaurant many times. The service and food quality till date, has not disappointed us. The sushi is fresh, the vinegar in sushi rice is just right and simply love the fresh sweet salmon... Many choices of bento set meals available... definitely balanced meal. The waiter attended to our order promptly and we did not wait very long for our orders to arrive although it was a PH that day. Waiter also topped up our glasses of ice green tea efficiently. My wife and I love to eat the chicken rice from this stall. Unlike many places, the rice is fluffy and non-oily. My wife always remove chicken skin BUT not for this stall's fabulous meal. The skin is QQ full of collagen, does not taste yucky at all. The purposely made to be served cold - meat is so juicy and tender, even for breast meat. Wow! This is another stall we love to have my Laksa for breakfast. Fragrant gravy with silky smooth thick bee hoon, fresh yummy cockles (mmmmm). My wife always torn between having her favourite mince meat noodles or laksa Hahaha... so end up she will order noodles and I will generously give her a spoonful of laksa to ease her craving Long queue as always even though we came early but no worries, stall uncle is fast and organised. Peaceful and quiet on the Saturday morning and enjoying my cup of coffee is life's enjoyment.I love to take simple ham and cheese sandwich and my wife takes the Tuna mayo , chatting and surfing on the iphone for the news. having the hot cup of coffee and 2 pieces of sandwiches is the start of the morning and only at $7.80 for both of us is really cheap!!!Pros : we like the family style ambience.Cons : staff tend to chit chat among themselves very loudly.
