The food varieties and selections are quite limited and not as much compared to other japanese buffet restaurant. But, for its cheap price, especially for weekday lunch buffet, one cannot complain much. The service was quite good, plates were cleared quite promptly. This place is good if you are looking to have a quality breakfast. They have quite a number of breakfast items on their menu, and all look and sound so tempting. Took quite a long time for me to finally decide on which to order.European breakfast-This is stated as one of the 'wild honey signature dish'. Two perfectly poached egg benedicts wrapped with Italian prosciutto served on two lightly toasted signature brioche. There is a promotion going on in this outlet, which is that when you order a main, you will be entitled to their salad bar buffet. Thus, I ordered a main which consist of a thin steak, two prawns, one crayfish and rice. The salad bar has alot of varieties, which include DIY salads and those ready mixed salads. Quite a number of dressings and toppings provided. Most of the ready mixed salads taste nice. Live station-This live station consists of two parts, the one on the left is for cooking of laksa and the one on the right is for all the roast meats (chicken, pork and duck). The roast duck meat was tender but the roast chicken was rough. The roast pork contained mostly fats.Dessert section-Their selections of desserts are quite huge, such as cakes, jelly in cups, swiss roll, waffles, egg tarts and mango sago, etc.. All their deserts tasted nice and of good quality, but out of all, I really love their cakes the most, so soft and smooth, like literally melt in the mouth.Chocolate fondue-Good quality dark chocolate fondue, yummy!Bread section-Quite a variety of bread selections with butter spreads, and there is an oven to toast the breads.Kueh pie tee section-A good selection of ingredients to create your own kueh pie tee.DIY rojak section-All the ingredients mixed together well and tasted nice.Seafood and salad sections-Their seafood selections are quite little, only mussels, prawns and hum. Breaded cream dory fish(top left) - $14.90Portion wise, alright, the fish fillet was quite a big piece and quite thick. It was deep fried to crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. Was shopping around takashimaya with my mom and we decided to go to food village located at basement 2 for a dinner fix. Since I wanted to eat something light for dinner, I only ordered two types of vegetables without rice. The two vegetables I ordered are cauliflowers with broccoli and stir fried eggplants. Asked for two dollars portion for each vegetable. For two dollars each, the portions are not bad, considered this is a foodcourt and not hawker center. Bought 2 StreetDeal coupons for a buffet lunch on weekday with my mom at buffet city. The website states that there are more than 100 buffet items but it is totally not true. The photos shown below are basically all the selections available, with an additional beverage section and two other sections (basically cooked food) which I did not take a photo of. I shall let the photos do the talking. All these photos were taken near the end of the buffet, thus most food look empty.Seafood section, basically contained only prawns, scallops and mussels. Didn't try any of it but my mom says they did not taste fresh.Sushi section, the sushi rice are quite bland.Fried food section, just all the common fried food, mostly not too bad, kind of like their chicken nuggets most, tasted abit like mcdonald's version.Cooked food section, I do not know what the first dish is, as when I reached the restaurant, it was already this little, and they literally did not replenish it at all. The three other dishes are omelette, fried bee hoon and fried rice. The fried bee hoon tasted not bad but the fried rice was bland.Cooked food section which contains stir fry cauliflower, curry puffs, custard buns and har gow. The custard tasted quite nice though, but quite little amount of it and the bun was too thick. Har gow too, skin too thick, dry and tough. The vegetables on the top are for display purposes only.Dessert sections, where most of the desserts were hardened. Consists of muffins, swiss rolls, fruit tarts( basically fruits in a tart shell, no custard at all), mini cakes, nonya kuehs, agar agar and fruits. Ice cream section, which ironically seemed to be the best part of this buffet. The flavours available were quite alot, and all tasted quite nice. Overall, for me, I think this buffet is ok ok, at least it did not make my stomach feeling too full but can last me quite long. Prime ribeye xtra cut- $18.90This is my mom's order and I managed to taste her food. Helped my mom to order medium well for the steak, but tasted more like medium to me, a little too rubbery for my liking, but my mom said its not too bad and easier to chew if eaten in small pieces. Tasted quite salty too. The coleslaw tasted alot like kfc's coleslaw, but in bigger pieces. The baked potato tasted quite bland, especially the inner part.Black pepper fish - $9.50Craving for fish and wanted something non-fried, thus I ordered this dish. The fish meat was very smooth and tender but tasted a little bland even with the black pepper sauce. I like their onion rings very much, can really taste the onion fragrant and not floury at all. This was an average tasting chicken rice, nothing really stands out.There are two types of chicken meat, boiled or roasted, I chose the roasted one as the skin seems thinner. The chicken meat were not dry but also not tender enough. The egg was quite nice though, can taste the fragrance of braising. Went there for a badminton session with my friends and we decided to dine at pastamania for a late lunch fixafter exercising. Zenden restaurant was having a 1-for-1 buffet promotion for major credit/debit cards and my mom and I decided to dine there. Unlike the usual hotel restaurant settings, this restaurant has colourful chairs in a white setting, very unique and zen feel. The lightings are bright and we happened to sit near the windows and enjoyed the view outside while eating. The overall service is good, there was a staff helping an old lady to scoop the hardened ice cream and also another staff offered to take tissues for me when I was about to take it myself.The food selections there are quite limited and not a lot of varieties offered, but their food quality are good. There are the cooked food section with mostly tasty dishes, seafood section with fresh seafoods, sushi section, salad bar section, soup section with two different soups offered, bread section with only one type of bread (soft and fluffy) and butter, ice cream section with toppings and syrups, beverage section with coffee and tea, and lastly, the most memorable part of the buffet, the dessert section with tasty mini cakes, tasty durian pengat and tasty chocolale fondue (served in a pot instead of fountain), in short, all the food items served on the dessert section are tasty. Both the durian pengat and chocolate fondue are not the sweet kind and tasted really pure. Overall, this is one of the best buffet for my mom and I, and my mom keep wanting to go back for their buffet. Dined in this restaurant with my mom. When we entered the restaurant, there was only one table occupied, and it was already near dinner time. Throughout our dining in the restaurant, only around five other groups of diners patronised. Well expected, since most people go rivervale mall only for the sake of the NTUC, and not for dining purposes. One good thing is that, due to the sparse amount of diners, we managed to get the attention of the waitresses easily, and there are only 2 to 3 waitresses. Even the chefs are too free until starting to walk around the restaurant.We order a Duo Combo set, $23.90++ and a Spoon Pizza (Chicken), $17.50++.The Duo Combo set consists of 2pcs Olive Luxury Chicken, 1pc Jerk BBQ Chicken, 2 mushroom soups, french fries, mashed potato, olive rice, sweet dates and 2 SJORA mango-peach drinks.All the food in the set tasted good, especially the Jerk BBQ chicken, which is a char-grilled chicken chop coated with their special BBQ sauce. It was really well marinated throughout the whole piece of chicken chop and the meat was very tender. Their BBQ sauce is really tasty. The Spoon Pizza (Chicken) tasted really good and delicious. Instead of using pizza bread as the base, I think they used something like a sweet pancake base instead. It is a really good rendition though, as the pancake base is fluffy and not too thick and tasted a little sweet which matched well with the cheese topping.
