Geylang is very famous for their frog porridge and also their zi char in some stores. However, you will always have a hard time finding parking lots. The place is rather inaccessible in term of public transport also.Good news now is that you don't have to travel all the way to geylang to get frog porridge! You could get it at just serangoon area!In addition, the place is absolutely nice for a chill out with beer after meal;windy and not very crowded. I guess the shop is still considered quite new. The sotong is just nice in term of their texture. It is not overcook that will change the texture of their meat.The meats are covered with the tasty sauce and definitely a fair match with the famous Geylang stores. A must-order in all zi char meal. I am always finding "the" chee cheong fun in Singapore. i wanted the taste of Hong Kong, not exactly the same but at least similar. And YESH ! I FOUND IT IN THIS HUMBLE KOPITIAM INSTEAD OF SOME DIM SUM RESTAURANT.This is the best i have tasted so far. It is just different. The roll is freshly made on the spot hence you got to wait for a while. This crucial step has make the texture so different from those already pre-made roll in the usual wooden basket.I believe that i can have 10 plates of this for lunch ! Being featured in various blogs, food forum and website, Togi restaurant supposed to be one of the best Korean place in Singapore. However, it proves me otherwise. I was anticipating with excitement for their "looks" appetizing seafood stew with gigantic crab legs. Tadah!Warning: Looks can be deceiving sometimes. Honestly, I was attracting to the look of it when it was served at the opposite table of mine. I mean, look at those crab and squid! I bet you will think that it was as nice as i thought as well ! Sadly, the dish was rather a disastrous. The soup base does not resemble any taste of kimchi but only MSG-flavoured. the crab meat was not fresh and rather tasteless. If it was not my friend, i would not even know about this XXL Pizza available in Basement of Suntec City. We always have a problem of finding the right place for the large number of us. We have at least 10 of us on this friday night for a farewell dinner! One of them is flying off soon for oversea internship placement in Shanghai. Chicken rice is probably one of the favourite Singaporean dish & yes, it is my favourite as well. However, i am rather picky over this "simple-looking dish". I love the fragrance of garlic in the chicken rice, the tenderness of the chicken and also the not so msg flavoured chicken soup that comes together. Sadly, i can't seem to find all this in this famous Hainanese Delicacy. Personally, i felt that it taste only so-so. It was not worth for the waiting time, i thought. This is definitely not the first time i had this ! Whenever me and my friends are nearby in Sembawang area with a budget constraint, we will head down to here. It is cheap, affordable and tasty! Maybe a little spice will brighten me up a bit after the long day at work. Indeed, it did ! The curry is thick with coconut milk and most importantly, it is hotter and spicier than the usual thai green curry. Normally, the green curry is known to be less spicy than the red or the clear soup base. However, this one can definitely fight with those spicy thai food. I SIMPLY LOVE RAW SALMON! It applied to a few of my friends as well. So we have decided to give this nice and cozy Miz a try. The design of the place reflects a very japanese style with curtain at the entrance and wooden furniture i thought. It does not give me the "feel" that normal shopping mall restaurant does. Probably because it is located somewhere at the shophouse. For the food menu, it can be considered a little pricey. You will have to share which makes it slightly cheaper.So we ordered salmon sashimi as our first dishes and followed by a few more variety that sounds nice on the menu. You got to love this salmon. It is fresh and does not have the fishy taste. I mean just look at the colour ! Definitely a MUST ORDER!We simply ordered 5 plates that night! is good but not that great for the value of its price.Personally i like salmon more. We just ordered one portion of the belly to try. It is still as good as the salmon shashimi but due to personal preference, i like the normal salmon more.It is rather difficult to cook a good prawn tempura. You got to have the right amount of barter on that little tiny prawn. This is rather so so to me because i felt that it is not really that crispy.If you like cheese, probably you will like this. With cheese fried together with the chicken, you get to taste both flavor at one bite. I expected something more cheesy and creamy but i guess this is more towards the "light cheese feel".Another MUST-ORDER! Their udon is rather chewy and does not have the "flour" taste. The soup is delicious that you can simply drink it after your finish the udon. It is not that salty. A light original flavored yogurt drink. Just when I thought that I could have a wonderful and affordable weekend dinner at Bugis+, the food turned out to be a disappointment. Whenever I go for buffet, I look for variety and the quality of the meat. However, Rocku Yakiniku has a very limited menu and the worst part is that the buffet menu doesn't include drinks. Can you imagine having no drinks for dinner... I was quite surprised that they don't even serve iced water. Left with no choice, me and my friends ordered a jug of Pepsi which costs $12.90 extra with the amount of 4 glasses only. Probably if the meat is good, then it will be worth it for the price and the limited variety. But, the food was so-so. The best part were be the salmon and mushroom offered which are rare in buffet menu. Unless you really like salmon that you can only eat salmon in the whole session then maybe this is a place for you. After all, salmon is considered expensive food. The environment is a thumb-up for gathering and beer session but definitely not for the food.I don't think i will go back for their buffet anymore, but maybe can try their lunch or dinner sets which seems to be okay. You can't be good at everything, you see. So, maybe their ala cart could be more worth the price and more tasty. If you love seafood, probably you will like this more than i do. The soup is filled with "seafood" taste. Personally i feel that it is quite okay but my friend loves it due to their soup base.You can never get enough of their signature sushi;Shiok Maki! I mean unless you are forced to eat 100 plates of it at one go or you personally don't like raw salmon. I guess this is probably their best dish among all the ramen, BBQ or even sushi.What's so brilliant about this sushi? EVERYTHING ON IT IS GOOD!! After a retail therapy at Bugis, all you need is some delicious Thai food for dinner. Instead of going to those big name such as Thai express, we decided to settle down at this small and humble place at Bugis street level 3. I mean how bad can the food be?They taste alright and personally, i think the tom yum soup turned out to be quite a surprise! It doesn't taste only spicy and sour but also a slight sweetness. It is definitely a love for people who has low tolerance of spiciness! The green curry gravy is thick. It will be better if they serve more gravy to match the amount of rice given. Sometimes you got to try something different; maybe some sausage bun. I'm generally not a big fan of sausage due to their nature tough texture. This particular night, i wished The Brat would change my impression and make me fall in love with their sausage. But oh well, their sausages are rather salty and not what i have expected. The swiss cheese pork that i have ordered does not have "melting & bursting" cheese i wanted. The spicy one does not really spice up my taste buds. The most disappointing would be the un-melted and cold cheese topping on the bun. I mean, it will definitely taste much better if the cheese is melted! Nevertheless, not everything is bad. Just when i thought that Japanese curry is sweet, this place proved me otherwise. Their curry is served in different level of spiciness. I order the Monster Combo Curry in 5 flames sauces. However, it is not as spicy as i thought. Probably i am the one who has a rather high tolerate for spicy. Among all the food in that gigantic plate, i would say that the curry sauce, rice and fish are the best. The pork katsu is rather too tough and ebi fry is coated with too much flour on that tiny little prawn. The pork shabu shabu is alright also. Overall, the dish is fine at the price offered !
