Inflation is real! The Yong Tau Foo from Meng Kee is no longer $0.40 per piece. It is now $0.50. Nevertheless, I don't mind paying slightly more for the Yong Tau Foo from Meng Kee as it is delicious. This stall serves a huge variety of Yong Tau Foo and I think many of which are made by the stall owner himself. Lousy steamboat but yummy cooked food - this is how I would describe my dining experience at this restaurant. The reason why I will feel that the steamboat is lousy os because the soup base is kinda bland and there is limited variety of raw food for steamboat. Most of the raw food is cheap food such as tofu, egg, vegetable, etc. There is meat but the meat doesn't look fresh. This is a restaurant that serves a huge variety of food, one will never get sick of dining here! Went to Mezza for dinner again to try new dishes. Ordered the crispy fried noodles with beef which I will strongly recommend one to try. The beef is really tender and chewy. It goes really very well with the crispy noodles. The chef is also very generous with the serving of the beef. I think there are around eight huge pieces of beef. Yumz!As for the yakitori, it is also very delicious. Though the price is slightly higher than most stalls that sell mixed vegetable rice, the food tastes good and the portions are kinda huge. Ordered the french beans, stirred fried pork with black bean sauce and brinjal/eggplant to go with my rice. The pork is lean and chewy. A good choice! Wanted to order the crispy chicken but it was sold out. Hence, ordered the crispy fish instead. Though it is quite tasty and I assume is freshly cooked (given that it is hot when served), I feel that is not value for money as there are only a few pieces of fish (the vinegar fish and chips from British Chippy is definitely better and cheaper!). Tried these two items from Ikea cafe:1. Calamari with nuggets and fries2. Organic spinach pancakeGenerally both items are quite tasty, in particular the spinach pancake. Though it is pan-fried, it is not oily. Given the fact that it is organic, it is a healthy and delicious dish. Usually I will order the chicken set. Gonna try something different and hence ordered the grilled fish set instead. Personally, I feel that the fish set is more value for money than the chicken set as the fish is kinda huge. Heard from my friend that the fish noodle soup from this store tastes good and hence, decided to give it a try. Indeed, it is one of the best fish noodle soup which I have ever tried. Personally, I feel that the chef can add more sauce to the rice bowl as it is kinda dry and can be more generous with the serving of the beef. Though the ice-cream tastes good, this is not an eatery which I will recommend one to visit as there is limited variety of ice-cream. Most of the flavours that are shown on the tags are not available. The waffle and chocolate cup cones are also not available. Cedele serves all day breakfast. Hence, I ordered the pancake with sausage despite the fact that I visit this cafe at 3pm. As shown in the picture, the blueberry pancake is really filled with blueberries! It tastes delicious, especially when it is eaten with the maple syrup. The sausage also tastes good too. However, I feel that the service of the staff needs to be improved. Though the place is not packed, the staff never take the initiative to top up our water. One of my favourite Italian restaurants. Not only does this restaurant serves good food, the service is recommendable too. The restaurant manager is very friendly and I can see that he really takes pride in his work by providing excellent service to all diners. Being an early diner (before 7pm), I can enjoy 1 serving of the yummy salad.For this visit, I decide to try the soup. Ordered the onion soup which tastes slightly sourish but I feel is a good appetizer. For main course, I ordered the lasagna. A lovely place to spend my afternoon, this is how i would describe this quiet cafe. Ordered the organic peach tea,'Honest Tea' and the smoked salmon pizza. Love this peach tea as it is low in calorie and doesn't taste as sweet as flavoured tea of most brands. This is the first time I try the food from this chain of zi char stores. Ordered the hor fun and KL noodles. Personally, I feel that the food only tastes average, definitely not a place which I will purposely travel to dine in. The KL noodles looks and tastes different from the one which I have tried at KL. The one which I ate at KL has more sauce (not as dry). Nevertheless, I think that the chef is quite generous in adding ingredients (prawns, fish cake, etc). Honestly, I didn't expect the chicken rice from this store to taste so good as it seems like just another typical store in the coffeshop. I am pleasantly surprised when I eat it. The rice tastes so good, to the extent that I feel like having a second bowl. The chicken is also very tender and fresh. $3 for a plate is really very reasonable.
