Well, I decided to try a taste of nanyang at NTU as there wasn't a lot of choice available for dinner at south spine. I ordered their nasi lemak which is pretty expensive at $3.80. The rice was green in colour and was soft and chewy at the same time. There is a light coconut smell. The egg was cold and didn't ate the fish as there is too many bones in it. The chicken was a little too hard to bite. During dinner, it is a very easy to get a seat. continue reading

The curry chicken looks quite appealing, but its curry is quite diluted, and does not have the rich taste of curry. Its potato is quite hard, though the chicken is quite tender and tasty. The rice, on the other hand is quite fragrant and has a rich smell of coconut, which tastes great. continue reading

For the curry chicken set, diners have the choice of choosing rice or bread to go with the curry. I decided to try the bread as I have tried the rice before. The bread was quite hard on the outside but soft on the inside, thus the soft part was able to absorb the curry gravy fully but it may taste a little soggy. The chicken was not big but enough at a price of $3.80. The chicken meat was also quite tender continue reading

Nasi Lemak Set $3.50. I really like the rice of the nasi lemak as there was a fragrant coconut taste and pandan flavour. Just eating the rice alone is also good. It is also moist enough. I wasn't able to finish the rice as it was too much for me. The chicken leg was quite tender but was not served warm as it was already prepared beforehand. It was quite hard to eat the fish as there were lots of bones. The chilli was not spicy enough and could be spicier. It was not salty too. Overall, this is worth a try. continue reading

I ordered the Curry Chicken Rice Set ($3.80) even though it seemed really spicy. There was literally only a chicken drumstick and a potato (albeit quite huge). Really tender chicken drumstick and the curry gravy seeps through the meat nicely. The potato would be better if diced into smaller cubes. The rice itself is green rice, really fragrant and nice. The gravy is not as spicy as it looks. It is in fact very mild. Not a problem for non-chilli eaters like myself as the spiciness seems to only dance on the tongue a little. Would prefer more rice to go with it. I foresee myself ordering this again. Yummy! continue reading
