Today I have meetup group meeting at this cafe. The cafe is located in the Singapore Art Museum. The cafe has unique artworks decorated the walls around. This made the place very arty looking. The menu is quite simple. Besides drinks, there is benny and pancake dishes available on the menu. There is also handwritten special on the board by the cashier. At the counter, there is also sliced cakes available at the display too.During weekdays, there is more items available on the menu. There is also lunch sets too.Order is made at the cashier with only cash payment mode. A number tag is served where food will be served to you.Remember to help yourself to the plain water which is served in measuring jars.I have Ice-Drop Coffee - Dominican Republic Caribbean Queen ($7.00)Crown Jewel for the adventurous. Its bright fruity notes give you a taste of the Tropics. The coffee is served in a brown colored bottle which looks like the type for medicine. Sugar and milk are served in syringes where one can adjust the amount need in the drink. The coffee is light and not too bitter in taste.Bread & butter pudding I top up $1 for the bread & butter pudding. It looks a piece of pan fried carrot cake in chinese style when served. The texture also feels like carrot cake as it is very soft. It has slices of banana and topped with syrup. I could not taste any bread in it.The rest of the group has also ordered Oink Oink Benny ($12.90)3 rashers of broiled bacon, grilled tomatoes and fresh fruitThe guy having it, feels a bit disappointed with its overcooked eggs.Smoked Salmon Benny ($15.90)Smoked salmon, grilled tomatoes and fresh fruitThe pancakes are served with chocolate chips in them. It is served with jam and peanut butter.Apple PieIced Tea ($4.50)Overall the food is not bad, but a bit too limited.  The place is not crowded and nice to relax in, where time flies quite fast. continue reading

7 KICKstart BREWiches is a very comfy place to relax and their food is very unique too. This is a burger that is is filled with pink dragonfruit sauce. The dragon fruit sauce did not make the burger taste like dragonfuit, it actually make the burger taste quite sweet. However, most of their burger contains beef so it might not be a wonderful place for people who cannot eat beef. continue reading

Though the name of the cafe is quite a mouthful to remember, 7 KICKstart BREWiches is located conveniently across the Substation along Armenian Street. Nestled amongst the heritage districts, it is one of the rare peaceful spots you can find in the bustling City Hall. For that, it makes a good spot for anyone looking for a quiet place to chill out on an afternoon. As its name suggests, the cafe is probably best known for its coffee brews and sandwiches. The cafe is also offering set lunches at S$12 which comes with a main dish, a soup and ice lemon tea. I gave my thumbs up for the iced lemon tea which carried a strong lemon fragrance in it, not resembling anything from a canned drink. The main dish was a banana leaf rice with fish. The presentation of the dish was pretty unusual. It was served with quite a generous serving of cucumbers, unfortunately not very much to our liking. The cajun chicken sandwich was more commendable in taste and portion. The hazelnut latte did taste very much like a latte with minimal taste of hazelnut. There is definitely room for improvement in terms of food and service but it still deserves dropping in for a quick bite if you are in the area and wish to avoid the crowd. continue reading

It was a nice and awesome dinner at this unique place my friend recommended me.The mocha drink was quite nice. It was nicely decorated to. I love the appearance when it is served. There is a bit of coffee taste in it as it is a mocha drink .This is a nice and cute burger too.The burger is quite small. There is quite a lot of vegetables too like tomato, cucumber and lettuce. Even though it is quite vegetable... but it was a unique burger that i have never ate before. It was delicious~ continue reading

Popped by 7 Kickstart Brewiches for lunch. Located at Armenien Street (close to the Peranakan museum), this cosy cafe serves out great coffee and food bites! The menu is a little confusing, they have a main menu for certain standard items like coffee and sandwiches, but for their specials, look to the handwritten items on the chalkboards plastered around the cafe. Their burgers seem to be the main hotseller in the cafe, almost everyone is having one! So here is the Patty Melt- essentially oven baked beef patty with seasonal fruit mixed mayonnaise, served with fresh salad in a sesame seeded bun.The burger is really huge and tall, stacked with generous portions of salad and vegetables! I am very fascinated by the neon pink beetroot mayo sauce; it really gives the dish an intriguing colour. The beef patty wasn’t too bad, not too overly well done or dry. Combine it with melted cheese… yums. The burger is so tall and unstable, it is actually held in place by a knife. Yes, if you notice, the burger is stabbed right in the middle with a knife. This is the Blue Foresticcino ($5.70) which is described as a clandestine meeting of blueberries, chocolate and double espresso shots. I really like this erm, “clandestine” drink. I thought it would taste uber artificially sweet but I kind of liked how the blueberry flavour actually came out and complemented the bitterness of the coffee. This is an interesting drink, and if you are craving something special and out of the ordinary, do give this a go!For more details, pls visit http://mrfoodnotes.wordpress.com/2012/04/22/7-kickstart-brewiches/ continue reading
