I went around to look for food to eat, decided to give this Japanese stall a try since it look somehow different from other stalls, plus i do like jap food so why not a try. food does look okay but lack a little in appearance for me, it just felt kind of plain. other than the look, the rice was really a disappointment It is like eating mushy hard flour in small pieces, it wasn't really cooked properly. It is like eating mushy hard flour in small pieces, it wasn't really cooked properly. But the side dishes like the salmon & tempura still was still tasty, not very good good but after being disappointed about the rice, at the the fish & prawn plus sweet potato is still relatively good. The bento set come with a miso soup, but it lacked of seaweed!

My first time to try their glutinous rice. This stall is mentioned in the Makansutra book so i expected them to be good. They left only a few packets when i went that morning. A packet is for $1.50. The taste is not very good. The rice was quite hard too. It has only a few pieces of mushroom with some fried shallots. I really did not like it. I think i will just have their yam cake and chee cheong fun.

This is my all time favourite mixed vegetable rice stall in this food centre. I frequent this stall at least 3 times a week. I will have porridge if i dine there and rice if for taking away. Some of my favourite dishes are the preserved radish with minced meat, braised shark fish with fermented beans and stir-fried sambal brinji. These dishes tasted very homely and deliciously cooked at the right level of saltiness. I always asked to have curry sauce or braised sauce to go with the rice.

This is my usual preference for a simple breakfast. The minimum order at this stall got to be at least 2 pieces. The chee cheong fun has got a smooth and moist texture. It went nicely with the chilli and the dark sauce. Their dark sauce tasted quite different from others. Its taste is towards saltiness rather than sweetness but it complemented and goes well with the chee cheong fun. A handful of sesame seeds was added to enhance its flavor.

This stall is supported by many residents living in this area thus explained the long queue during lunch and weekends. They usually sold out before 1 pm. This stall is selling fried bee hoon, mee siam and lontong in the morning and only started to sell mixed vegetable rice from 11am onward. Some of my favourite dishes are fried eggplants, braised chicken, curry chicken and sweet & sour pork. Their asam fish is another must order but a bit pricey. Carrot cake, Singapore delicacies. I had carrot cake from Amk market place. It's quite well known and always having long queue. I ordered the original carrot cake, for $2. They come with different price $2,3,4 which determines different portion too. It is tasty and not oily. I saw how the person cooked. They cooked in a very big portion which forms a gigantic carrot cake on the pan and divide respectively according to customer's order. They are fast and efficient.

I went ahead to order stir fried long beans, braised stingray and fried meat balls for $4.00. The cooking tasted delicious this time, i particularly enjoyed the long beans, it's nicely soft but not overcooked. The braised stingray tasted homecooked too, something my grandpa would likely be cooking for dinner. And the meatballs are pretty tasty and well-fried.

Overall, this was a satisfying dinner.

An average plate of mixed vegetable rice but already good enough for me, i have eaten really terrible mixed vegetable rice. I paid a total of $5.00 for 2 meatballs, brinjals, sesame chicken and stingray, fairly affordable. It tasted alright but a little salty, i guess most of the dishes from this stall are more suitable to go with white porridge. I do not usually like white porridge and i only do when i am feeling sick but i might make it an exception for this stall. if you want simple home cook

This is my comfort food. Nice, light and satisfying. I do want it for breakfast when i am in the mood for something not heavy. The stall is manned by 2 nice ladies, and they do it willingly to separate the sauce and chilli in those small packets when you are taking it away. Nice people and great foods, this is the only secret behind a successful hawker stall.
